Together in Battle release date!

Hello, RPG fans. After many years of work, I’m thrilled to announce that we now finally have a release date for the procedural team management strategy RPG Together in Battle on Steam!
You’ve come to the island kingdom of Dese with a mission: enter the gladiatorial games, find loyal fighters, and train. But things grow complicated when a sinister conspiracy threatens to throw Dese itself into chaos. Fight turn-based tactical battles with immense mechanical depth; manage resources; navigate random events; and watch your characters grow via a brand-new, emergent social sim system. Your characters, the relationships they form, and the trials you face together will be different every time you play!
Together in Battle is coming to Steam early access on April 25th, 2023. Wishlist now and join our mailing list to be automatically notified when it comes out!

Don't want to be rude and congratulations on the release, but why do you need 11 GB for game that looks like a flash or phone game?

Hey JarlFrank! I don't currently have any plans to re-release Telepath RPG: Servants of God on other storefronts. It looks like you found the game okay. ;)

For those who haven't been following Together in Battle's updates, we're now up to version 0.6.00! Among other things, the game now has:
  • a fleshed-out time and morale management system;
  • a jobs board with procedurally generated fights that vary day by day;
  • greater character variety;
  • dozens of hand-crafted events with alternate outcomes depending on your choices and/or the characters involved;
  • 176 skills;
  • improved UI;
  • lowered difficulty (including, among other things, massively toning down the significance of camp cleaning and weapon breakage);
  • an arena plotline that is complete from start to finish;
  • a main quest with branching outcomes (still in progress, though the first ending is now in-game); and
  • finished gamepad (and SteamDeck) support.
Players report that there's now about 20 hours of gameplay in any given playthrough. If you've been waiting to give Together in Battle a go, now would be a good time to jump in and try it!

As of today, Together in Battle has been in Early Access for one year!

I've just released the 20th update, bringing the game to version 0.6.20 and adding a bunch of new battles and battle conditions.

The primary focus of this month's update has been adding yet more to the game's battle variety, with four new hand-designed, scripted battles tied to random events and two new "fan request" conditions for the game's arena battles:
  • new event: a second nighttime thief attack battle (much larger in scale than the first)!
  • two new "inter-team sparring" events, each with an associated battle sporting a special (and unusual) victory condition!
  • a new "revenge quest" event chain, plus a new associated battle!

  • new arena fight condition: Skill Request. A fan requests that you use a specific skill (known by at least one of your deployed characters) during the battle; if you use that skill a certain number of times and go on to win the fight, you'll gain an extra reward! (This condition can appear beginning in Monkey League.)
  • new arena fight condition: Skill Avoid Request. A fan requests that you avoid using a specific skill (known by at least one of your deployed characters) during the battle; if you do not use that skill at all and still go on to win the fight, you'll gain an extra reward! (This condition can appear beginning in Monkey League.)

I don't like the graphics. The character art doesn't look very good. I do appreciate that they still drew a couple of merchant females though I think they should still go more towards a beautiful nose like Abby Shapiro's nose.

Also. When does this come out?

It's out right now in early access! A playthrough currently clocks in at 20 hours (and since characters are proc gen and most events are randomized, each playthrough is different).

If you're asking when it'll hit version 1.0, though, my best guess is spring 2025.

Does the player get to take part in fights yet or is he just pulling the strings from the safety of his audience seat.

For the time being, you play as a non-combatant who hires characters, manages the team, and directs tactics in battle.

Yeah, I expected this to look better than the last game somewhat and its kinda worse-looking.

TIB is a systems-focused game that largely reuses the assets of the previous game. I don't have the money to overhaul the graphics again--I'm investing the limited time that I have predominantly on writing fun and memorable moments, deepening the mechanics, and adding replayability.

The Together in Battle monthly update has dropped, and it's a big one! New events, new battle, new art, a new late-game progression loop, and the investigation questline is now complete but for the final confrontation. We're now at version 0.9.00: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1267210/view/4479485895126286559

(Oh, also--I don't think I've mentioned it here yet, but you can create custom characters in the game now! They aren't "you," mind you--you can just recruit them. You still play as the team manager. Apologies to ERYFKRAD )
