How about this for an interesting twist: You can do a thumbs down on someone, but only in General Discussion. If you go below negative 10 (same amount for when your character "dies" in old AD&D board games IIRC) then you are automatically banned.

Thoughts?

Don't think that's a good idea, though if it limits how many posts you can do each day, that would be more reasonable.

For instance, 0 Brofists can only post 10 posts a day. -5 Brofists can only post 5, and -1 from there. Once you get to negative ten, you only get 1 post a day from there on, and have to earn back Brofists. +5 brofists can post up to 15 times a day, and so on. It would limit Trolls/Flamers, and keep the good people posting.

You cannot go below 1 post a day. But you have to earn back Brofists! from there.

Of course, since this is Codex, everybody would slam everybody else's posts, it would be next to impossible to get Brofists when you can give people Negative feedback. We're all pretty cynical here.

Minigame shit :rpgcodex:

procastinator's got the right idea.

We don't need it. If you disagree with something someone says then explain why. If what they say is so moronic it doesn't deserve a response then ignore it and hopefully everyone else will too. Chances are antibrofists will only encourage the decline to bitch and moan about people downvoting them

I suggest the Mucius Scaevola fist, to anti-brofist you have to use five of your brofists, no more brofists no anti-brofisting.
For patrons instead the fist of Jihad, to have a user banned for a month your current account will be permabanned, and even if you register again you status as patron will be gone.

Will be as efficient as the dumbfuck tag , you know the tag people exhibit proudly like a medal of honor. I am sure some will post the most inane things all the time and compete to get the more negative brofists possible.

I've still never "brofisted" anyone here, and I never will.

Anyone who ever has is an idiot.

You're all worthless and weak.

Actually we need only that option. What is bloody brofist anyway, I'm not gay enough to lick all the dicks so often.

I like Eyeball's idea.

Either way, it would work even if it affected nothing on a person's profile. People would compete for the most negative-brofists, sure, but it is RPGCodex, and they already compete for space in Retardo Land.

All I can think is, if it negates a person's brofists, it probably needs to be limited. Either you only get one per day (hofist), or you can use it to erase Brofists from a person's profiles, but maybe not drag them into "Negative Brofist" space. It would just negate their value as a person.

But since Codex is limited, people would naturally give more Negative hofists than Positive Brofists. So it should be limited to one ho-fist a day, and Brofists should continue as usual. The only effect of Ho-fists would be to erase Brofists from the person's profile whom it is given.

Or maybe we shouldn't waste time with gay ass meta features. Just a thought.

Exactly.

And even if pointless extra meta-features were a good thing, not derp, this would still be retarded. You seriously think that basing shit like how much someone can post on brofists would favour people posting insightful things about games? Seriously, have you even glanced at the posts that people get the most brofists for? The forum might change, but it sure as hell wouldn't be a change for the better.

Anyway, not sure why I bothered writing that, considering it's a feature that has about as much chance of being implemented as a forum romance minigame. In other words none, unless DU takes a shovel to the head and comes down with a serious case of retardation.
