I don't think Thief is using a simple spherical propagation for sounds. Just try to open and close a door and listen to the different effect from a sound source in the adiacient room.
You could watch those 2 videos that I linked in that post you quotedretarded trolling
stop engaging with itThen go and play those titles, shut up, and stop wasting our time.more retarded trolling
this is true though, but for some reason not alwaysI don't think Thief is using a simple spherical propagation for sounds. Just try to open and close a door and listen to the different effect from a sound source in the adiacient room.
I think you might've missed the most important line in the Wikipedia article:every shooter on the market had this fake 3d sound in stereo headphones via reverb shit going onIt's 3 dimensional, binaural sound propagation back in 1998:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3D_audio_effect
the question is if th1ef actually used a3d to any meaningful extent and i doubt it
now i of course cant test it cause no audio card but i choose to believe that it was marketing shit just like all of it
Whats so wrong with having a combat run in Thief? You are literally playing the game wrong.
Nothing. The best thing in Thief is that you can try to overcome the obstacles as you wish. Infact this is the way I played Thief for the first time. At the time the stealth mechanics was so new and relatively unknown that I instinctively played it as a doom clone. It was very intense and one of my best gaming experience nevertheless.Whats so wrong with having a combat run in Thief? You are literally playing the game wrong.
It was going so well. His first attempt at trolling was completely ignored and then he posted again and everyone bit the hook. C'mon guys, The Simpsons already told you how to beat this in 1995: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treehouse_of_Horror_VI#Attack_of_the_50-Foot_EyesoresYou could watch those 2 videos that I linked in that post you quotedretarded trolling

Is he? Unless you engage in combat, you won't be able to utilize water arrows to clean up blood and (when blessed) to blow up zombies. You are literally playing the game wrong.
Doors can have a sound block percentage value, which blocks a certain amount of sound that comes its way.I don't think Thief is using a simple spherical propagation for sounds. Just try to open and close a door and listen to the different effect from a sound source in the adiacient room.
And there is that parrying mechanic you can do with your sword.
