The cyberpunk title that CD Projekt are developing will probably become the true successor of Deus Ex and possibly Fallout.

Welp, beat it - 74 hours of epic adventure. The game was longer than the first two taken together. At the end,
Ciri became empress, and Triss and Yen, whom both I tried to convert to Mohammedanism, turned lesbian instead and dumped my Geralt. All in all, it was a most fitting and enjoyable ending.
Anyway, the game was magnificent - it combined GTA, Skyrim, Gothic, Game of Thrones, the Wheel of Time, Grimm's fairy tales, Slavic folklore, pop culture, and a myriad of other things in one delicious RPG-y action-adventure interactive-TV-series choose-your-own-adventure epic show. Good stuff, 10/10 GOTY for sure. (Maybe not RPGOTY, but definitely GOTY.)

The game has many superficial problems (e.g. Geralt's shitty voicing) that are overshadowed by the smooth gameplay, the gorgeous graphics, the engrossing story, and the wonderful characters (Ciri and Yen in particular were great in terms of art design, voicing, dialogue, everything). A couple of significant flaws stand out, though - the shitty itemization, and the simple combat system. Up to level 14, I just used whatever garbage items I found on the road. After that, I just put on my Cat gear and never looked back. At the end, I had a stash of 50+ relics lying in Dandelion's whorehouse. As for the combat, it looks good from the first to the last minute of the game, but it never becomes particularly interesting mechanically or tactically. The poor final boss died in a stunlock. The most difficult fight in the game was one of the boxing matches on Skellige. I should have played on hard or brutal.

Yeah... This one was a real keeper, one of the best games I've ever played. Looking forward to the second expo. The cyberpunk title that CD Projekt are developing will probably become the true successor of Deus Ex and possibly Fallout.

You know what would be cool, though? A Wheel of Time game developed by CD Projekt.

Imlerith is weak when you master side-stepping and dodging but Eredin is nasty cock. He has move-sets that can kill you in one moment because his attacks deal 50% your max hp with best gear and really hard to predict. Other than that game is easy on Death March.

CDPR's next IP should be The Adventures of Jakub Wędrowycz for some nice polish based urban fantasy.

Series of polish books about 80/90 year old uneducated alcoholic poacher/thief/moonshiner that is also self-taught mage/monster slayer. He fights not only paranormal shit (which increased because of communism) but also the soviets, police, Ukrainian mob and a really bad case of rotten neighbours. While the books themselves can be lame at times, the audiobook version was hilarious. So in other words this books benefit from adaptation to a more lively medium. It would be cool play as a chaotic neutral, booze-up monster slayer during the communism. But it would also probably be near unintelligible to a western audience though.

Books look interseting, gonna look them up on Wiki

Jakub is practically immortal - he once went to a chiromancer, who told him his life line on his palm is awfully short. Then he proceeded to break the beer bottle he was holding on a bench and started "correcting" the line which has given him a very long lifespan. He is known to have cheated death on several occasions, including smashing Death herself to pieces (by means of Panzerfaust) and breaking out of Hell causing heavy damage in the process. He was once drank to death by his own guardian angel, but it was reversed by St. Peter, who did not approve of such methods. He is known for his unnaturally long penis - according to the stories, he must store it in his pantsleg and tuck the tip away into his boot.

What the actual fuck?

The Hell part was great. He tossed a bottle of holy water giant cauldron for boiling sinners, contaminating the entirety of it. Many devils and demons suffered chemicals burns from that and special hell decontamination team in protective chemical clothing had to be called in :P

Also there is a story about Stalin and Lenin going into Ancient Egyptian afterlife because they were atheist but were also mummified ant those cases are handled by the Egyptians Gods be default. They proceed to escape and try to restart the communist revolution on Earth. And Wedrowycz has to stop them :P

Jesus, I want it too.

By the way, Triss is a whiny cunt and I derived a great deal of pleasure out of friendzoning her on every occasion I got. She also has the worst fucking quests in the whole game. I'd rather escort 3 more crazy goats than deal with her bullshit.

Spoilers I guess:
"Oh teeheee we must help this rich guy who lives on a huge estate in the middle of nowhere run away! I so stronk women!" "Oh teehee Geralt, catch me, I can't even walk straight"
Fuken whore, I loved that disappointed look on her when I didn't kiss her. Her whole character feels like she has a rich husband who gave her a stupid job like saving kittens so that she'd feel important. Except the kittens are supposedly dangerous and strong mages and there's like 300 unguarded exits from the city. She mentions they need to have a place to go to, not only run away, but it still felt retarded. Glad she's away on the ship, hope it sinks and I never see her again. I went to a brothel and fucked a whore instead of Triss, just to spite her. Anyway, don't tell me if I see her again, please! Still managed not to get anything spoiled for me.

It seems like today's update of the GOG Galaxy client has broken The Witcher 3. Now you CTD whenever your try to load a game. I played it earlier today, before the update, without any issues.

Guys I need some slight HINT (no spoiler please)
I got some quests for Kaer Morhen that are lvl 14 or something, I'm lvl 19 in Skellige chasing Ciri and can't go to Kaer Morhen. How come? Am I being stupid and missing some signpost spot in the Kaer Morhen region or will I naturally get there through the story? It feels like I should have been able to get there a long time ago.

So I started NG+ on Blood March and just now I realized how inconsistent this game is when it comes to combat. I'm not complaining (it actually is very fun now that I know how to use Signs, potions and bombs), but the hitboxes are completely borked, which makes the crossbow useless when not in the water. Also, there should be a clear division of which flying enemies are affected by Axii. Griffins and Basilisks fall when you use it, but some Wyverns don't.
I also think the Mutagen slots are somewhat too limited considering how many points you end up getting in two playthroughs.

Still, I loved this game, and only now I'm actually taking my time to enjoy things like horse racing and Gwent.

Eredin, Ofieri Wizard and that giant frog from HoS are bullshit on NG+ Death March. In case of Eredin he is instagibbing you because he can deliver two unblockable and hard to dodge strikes each taking 50% max hp. Ofieri Wizard was worse he could just spam his ridiculous attacks and with right combo kill you no matter how well you dodge or if you have Quen active while teleporting all around the place. The Prince was bullet sponge taking 10 minutes of pillow-mashing with best gear from base game and waiting for his buggy AI to detect Yrden traps under his ass.

And yes, hitboxes are borky. I received damage from attacks that didn't hit me. It is easy to notice when you reload 5th time but you did react correctly by making dodge but died because game detects hit in binary (mid-roll = dodge, diving to roll = not dodging).

It should be called "Save Scum Mode". There is no skill or careful character development required mostly just luck as main quest overlevels you anyway and gear stats don't matter. You can't rape your regular trash-mob enemy by exploiting their weaknesses, if you try to land 3rd or 4th attack they will insta-stun you and in case of Eredin bring to load screen. It is retarded when some petty bandit can block every strike from trained mutant-assassin unless his stamina bar is empty in which case he will allow to be hit once and have his bar filled up blocking 15 attacks more again. I have trouble igniting or knocking down low level 40ish enemies which I should rape with level 65+ gear.

This game in my opinion had level-scaling at some point and then someone decided to throw it away and do some quick work-around before release. I can hardly notice any difference between enemies other than 5+ level "insta rape" buff. It's shameful this game just smacks different numbers at mobs wheras it should be like in Fallout 1/2 where if you see Wyvern then you know it is going to be tough fight requiring preparation and active skills swap.

Yeah. There really is a problem with the enemy patterns. Werewolves are way too strong, no matter the level, but I found a level 50 Leshen on NG+ and basically used Quen every time he teleported and dodged right into him (since he has basically two attacks). I beat him and I was level 38 and on Death March.
I don't even know why they bothered with this dumb NG+ that is basically just a level scaling mode. Most enemies can be scummed to hell, and when they can't, they're just bullshit unreliable hitboxes that can bring a 30-seconds loading screen with two hits.

The Witcher 3 from above

Used the unlock cam to take some aerial shots of Velen/Novigrad, the main Skellige island, and White Orchard. Figured some would be interested in seeing the scale, as well as how the topography, roads, distribution of towns and fields look, all from above.

Combat inconsistency is a hallmark of RPGs, one thing that makes them a niche genre.
