World War I survival horror game CONSCRIPT launches in 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC

There is a demo. I dunno how old the demo build is - there are people on youtube playing it over 3 years ago - but I just played 1hr of it just now and it is good. Trad. resident evil gameplay but instead of zombies it's WWI trench warfare. You play as a Frenchman, which greatly adds to the horror element for me personally.

There are some interesting mechanics, including you w/ NPCs versus a trench invasion but otherwise just a solid game really. The level design is pretty good, maybe a bit better than Signalis but slightly below RE1. Art direction is a very slight weak point but of course who knows how reflective the demo is of what state it's in now.

The safe room music is on point as well.

I wishlisted, which apparently is important for indies to get their stuff sold.

Steam next fest press page is up now: https://store.steampowered.com/sale/nextfest_june2024_press

I've already been checking out demos from Mirthwood, Hollywood Animal, Dead Season, Homebody, City20, Midnight Margo, Carnival, Pax Augusta, et cetera.
Many thanks, this is a fucking boss link for My Current Life Stage. I had to quit my big moolah finance job few weeks ago [*] and have been in a state of mild economisation + extra free time for a few weeks. Been playing demos of weirdo shit for about a month and starting to prefer it to playing real games. A demo never outstays it's welcome.

[*] My personal moolah is still big, it was the job that got small

the re-released version of Perimeter is noteworthy because it has a far better English translation and widescreen support implemented by default. the original English translation in the Codemasters-published version of the game was very mediocre and missed a lot of context
It's also noteworthy because the main guy, Andrei "KranK" Kuzmin, died in November 2022 in a car accident. Association K-D Lab that publishes the game is founded after his death.

The game was undoubtedly ahead of its time.
