ur mom is mediocre, RR has some p. cool levels.
IMO it was by far the weakest of commercial Build games, not counting cheap latter games like NAM.

What tormund said. Redneck Rampage had a truly bizarre armament collection, only about 4-5 different enemies and levels consisting of a lot of brown (eat it, Arx Fatalis!)

And yet...start talking about Duke Nukem 3D (or the Build engine) with a group of 'old' gamers, and there's ALWAYS one whom will bring up Redneck Rampage. Seems like everyone and their grandmas either know of it or played it back in the day.

I'm guessing that they are checking if there is enough potential buyers on Steam to warrant a release?

That sounds silly, Interplay have released plenty of old games on Steam before. Also, the text of the entry looks amateurish/fake.

Back in the good old universe pigs and farmers!

The main character is a villager Leonard, which the aliens have stolen prize-winning sow. During the game, Leonard is looking for the pig and helps him mentally retarded brother, Bubba, indicating the transition to the next level.

This totally doesn't read like something that was written by an Eastern European Business Man.

It Is obviously notches below Douk/SW/Blood but it's still a fine game largely because of the theme which made for fun levels like I said.

Don't really understand the complaint about brown. Some places are p. brown just like in real life.

Never played that much of original RR, but maps from Rides Again were ridiculously varied in terms of their themes and visuals. Cat's complaints about weapons and enemies still stand tho.

Core combat is not that satisfying and balance is basically non-existent. You can play thru entire game with pistol (for taking out regular rednecks and those shotgun fatsos from afar) and shotgun (for close combat, and generally HP-heavier enemies). Only other thing you need is explosive crossbow for groups of enemies, and aliens and mother-jackalopes (and for when you inevitably get tired of pistol & shotgun combo, luckily - and probably for that exact reason - game throws craploads of crossbow ammo at ya). Everything else is useless. Neither enemies themselves nor their placement require you to change your approach at any point in the game. BUT, levels in Rides Again are as I said really varied, plus genuinely good looking and interesting to explore, so they carry the game by themselves despite how tedious and badly thought-out its core is.

That is not at all surprising TBH. Remember how Greenlight was filled with inane entries by Russian kids early on, before the there was a need to pay to have a Greenlight page?
If those concept entries are still free, that would explain how something like this happened.

BTW this has me thinking how is it that Redneck Rampage isn't on Steam already given that another Xatrix game published by Interplay is (Kingpin).

RR was literally my first PC FPS after Doom. Nostalgia is the only good thing about it.

It also took a while for me to find out that you had to hit Bubba with a crowbar to progress.

BallisticNG is a free, open source and modifiable anti-gravity racing game. The game is currently in early beta stages and has been in development for just over a year. It's also downloadable to play right now, check the bottom of the description!

Taking place in 2159, BallisticNG lets you race in extremely fast anti-gravity vehicles for a variety of corporations in the Anti-Gravity League. Each corporation has their own unique ship that handles differently, most of them are available from the start so you have a variety to pick from the get go. And of course, you can model your own in external modeling software and import them with your own unrestricted settings! Difficulty and mastery is a focal point of BallisticNG. While the slower speed classes are much easier for casual players, the faster speed classes provide a punishing challenge for those looking for a bit more of a rush.

Features
8 main tracks, 5 additional tracks and a custom track importer.
13 teams, an anti-gravity motorbike and a custom ship importer.
Arcade mode, time trial mode, survival Mode and a tournament mode.
Online multiplayer (this is still being worked on) with automatic sending of custom ships (this part is already done)
A variety of weapons that can be used to damage and protect yourself from other racers.
5 speed classes that cover a range of different skill levels.

Artstyle
The game takes on a retro 90s artstyle that emulates most of the limitations of the Playstation One, with a low draw distance (which can be increased if wanted), truncated vertices, primitive lighting, low resolution unfiltered textures and low-poly models. Everything you see is intentional and has had a lot of effort poured in to make it look as it does. The game does have additional effects such as bloom and FXAA anti-aliasing that you can enable if you want to make it look a bit more modern.

Greenlight goal
The goal of having BallisticNG on steam is to provide a main platform that the game can be downloaded and played on. The game is free and will forever be free. No micro transactions, no pay to win, just free. This game has been made for fun, there is no commercial gain to be seen anywhere. If the game is greenlit then it will be ensured that the game is in the best possible condition before it is released on Steam, the presentation of the game is taken seriously and rushing it out there is not the goal.

Beta State
As mentioned above, the game is currently in an early beta state. Therefore if you play then you will undoubtedly run into bugs here and there. If you do then please report them and they will be fixed as soon as possible! Please avoid just saying it's buggy as it's not helpful and won't allow the game to improve. There is also content that is still to be finished and updated. While the current state of the game is somewhat representative of the final product, it's not entirely.

You can download and play the game right now (links below), so give it a try! It would be very much appreciated if you could leave feedback of your experience as this will help improve the game in the future.

Requirements
There are no clear requirements right now, but the game has been tested on a variety of both AMD and Intel/Nvidia hardware both by ourselves and the community that the game already has. Attention to optimization has been important in the game's development and it should run on some fairly old hardware. The target framerate is 60fps, but you should very easily get beyond that if you want to increase the cap to run the game on a high refresh rate display
