I'm playing on normal and regular gorilla enemies can tank 30 grenades, you heard that right, 30 fucking grenades plus straight to the face, the gunplay is inane because most nonhuman enemies are bullet sponges that cant be killed without cheesing them in some way, companions are braindead and will run face first into 20 gorillas and die instantly

Sounds like your build is trash. I can 1 shot those gorilla with a plasma rifle on supernova

VO is uninspired
I agree with the exception of the guy who voices Moonman on Groundbreaker. No idea who did that VO but he's been the only character that was actually fun to listen to, and he's a joke vendor NPC. Also would disagree on FNV+ core gameplay since it feels like there aren't even as many options as FNV, but I may be wrong. Thus far it looks like anti-corp with Rick, pro-corp, and that might be it. Could be some potential branching later (Like I'm siding with the corporations but maybe I can do some backstabbing to position myself better) but that seems less than NCR/Legion/House/Yes Man for potential routes for the main story. Rick might be the equivalent of Yes Man since he's in his little box, though unless the corporations deal with him in the epilogue after you've finished the game (Plausible, they're dragging their heels) I'd assume he gets killed, so maybe the ship's computer's the Yes Man route.

Going off on a tangent. The point is go talk to Moonman for the one entertaining voice.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
I wonder how much praise the game will get if it wasn't made by Obsidian but by some random Europe studios.

Greedfall thread was pretty much 50% "it's shit" and 50% "it's fine", and here it's pretty much just constantly "it's shit" and "The females has short hair, it's SJWs!”.

If this game was made by a Yurop AA studio like Spiders, PB or Warhorse it'd get kicked to the curb by the Kwan media, as per tradition. TOW is the very fucking definition of Eurojank but because it's Kwan all the 'murican outlets are squirting with joy.

GameSpot on Greedfall:
Because Greedfall is so cavalier about its colonialist themes, and because it plays it safe by sticking so closely to the template of open-world RPGs, it doesn't really feel revelatory in any way. Instead, it's content to be just another digital playground--just another world filled with magic, riches, secrets, and monsters for players to shoot and loot at will. I did have fun when I got lost in its familiar RPG loop, but its lack of nuance or innovation prevents it from being truly remarkable. 5/10

GameSpot on TOW:
The Outer Worlds is consistently compelling throughout, and it's a superb example of how to promote traditional RPG sensibilities in a sharp, modern experience. 9/10

FNV+ core gameplay

To clarify, by core gameplay I mean the shit you do moment to moment: shooting, punching, dodging, interacting with objects, and so on. I don’t have an opinion yet about multiple approaches or C&C.

Btw I'm putting this game on ice until the antialiasing hotfix. With or without the AA it's actually giving me a headache and when I woke up today after playing about 6 hours yesterday my eyes are all dry and sore. I've never had any problems with motion sickness or headache or epilepsy or PTSD or any other bullshit like that while gaming but this game's engine and colours are something fucking else.

I am planning to finish it though, so far everything except the graphics and art style and seems acceptable. The writing smells faintly of veganism and estrogen but it's not as overpowering as in other American games nowadays.

It would have been shat on from a great height and rightfully so. That people have fond memories of old Obsidian (of KOTOR 2, MotB, Alpha Protocol and New Vegas) is the only reason this game was given so much attention and not outright disregarded. Because, fuck, they were given free reigns and made an even shittier Bethesda game with more pozzed politicking and even more reddity humour. If just about any other company put this out it would have been torn to shreds here, if anyone even bothered playing it.

Pretty sure it's more about it having the correct politics.

Oh, I gotcha. Then yeah, FNV+ sounds about right. Still not really a satisfying shooter if you were looking at it in a vacuum but mechanically it feels better than FNV even if it's too easy. FNV's similar though, even with the difficulty cranked, so that's just par for the course apparently. And I'm exclusively talking about guns so maybe melee is an amazing and hilarious wonderland like Dark Messiah.

I'm heading to the sad conclusion that they simply didn't have the budget and the experience in order to "properly fail"
Was thinking about that yesterday, what a coincidence good sir.
Basically, the more means you give them to actually produce their vision, the more you realise their vision wasn't all that funny, interesting, clever to begin with.
Feels like greater means gives lesser powers (of imagination in this case), a bit like your gps would fuck your orientation skills over time.

Or I'm a jaded fuck.

Dying Light 2 will be MCA's final test. If he promotes it saying he first wanted the nameless one to be able to parkour around Sigil, we can focus on immersive sims and the elder scrolls 6.

The mole made a retarded build because he is incapable of grasping the most basic of concepts. Who would've thought it?

Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture
And Greedfall was nowhere near as good as this game with worse looking females.

Greedfall's faces are extremely nice for a game with a self-made engine. All quest/plot important NPC have a custom looks and never gave me freak-show-from-randomizer feeling OW's NPC did. I will even go as far as saying that Greedfall characters look better than frostbited Inquisition with it's thick level of gloss over everything. Animations are a letdown though, straight from 2009 in the technical implementation.

Hairstyles are also on shorter side, but with impressive hat-compability which is damn nice after years of Obsidian's "hats make you bald" approach.

There's examples and there's no examples. Provide examples lol

At this point these are just quick impressions.

I’ll give you one. Parvati. She’s a brown queer working-class young woman with an Indian name. Yet she talks and acts just like a ditzy white middle-class liberal Californian teenager. The character concept is interesting, the execution is Wonderbread.

But who knows, maybe it will eventually dig deeper than corporations bad m’kay, but we’re all just people m’kay, with our hopes and dreams m’kay

Side question. Let me ask you now, that you have begun noticing these little agenda details in ToW, why didn't you notice them in Deadfire?
