I love how, before Disco, there were maybe five of us praising anything about The Outer Worlds, and now the game’s got all kinds of defenders if only to spite ZA/UM.
Tripping much there, Night Tripper?

I just like talking shit to mental inferiors who try to bring something down, so I'll bring your shit game down where you were literally defrauded and ate it up like a lapdog

Never change, RPG Codex.

And the funny thing is, ZA/UM <3 Obsidian and vice versa.

Even funnier is, I'm mildly hyped about ToW (Cain and Boyarsky FFS, that deserves at least a little hype!). I'm looking forward to playing it and expect to like it.

So if my gushing about Disco Elysium has reduced hostility towards TOW among the usual suspects, then it hasn't gone completely to waste. <3

Hey, Doctor John isn’t using the name anymore.

It’s 3:16PM here... I’m working on it.

Yep, Prime Junta and I were robbed—hoodwinked! I can’t believe the nerve of these guys charging zero dollars for preview copies.

I've been defending this game far before disco fraud came out, maybe do a search before you try to fraudulently spread more lies.

It's a bit much, unless humanity took a change somewhere and artificial ingredients are now something to strife for.

Latro has it right. Ironic lampooning of advertising tropes is incredibly old and no longer funny without some kind of fresh insight.

It's time for post-irony. We need some kind of platform to make fun of people who make fun of advertising tropes.

Alienman To be more precise/clarify

Additives are cheap to manufacture, prolong shelf life among other things and are just a dream come true, except for the customer.

You can bet that in a corporate society public opinion of additives would be influenced to sell them as a good thing rather than as something potentially dangerous.

In a situation where you make fun of someone making fun of advertising what are you offering content wise, what's your joke, just haha look at this guy making fun of things, that's super lame, oh wait I'm making fun of things, and advertising totally isn't shady at all hahaha

Normally I'd agree, but remember we're talking far-future sci-fi in another solar system, so having joyful 1950s advertising serves to flesh out the world nicely. \

It's also pretty funny how some people complain it's a by-the-books FNV clone that isn't trying anything new. When in truth they took a lot of risks here. When you're thinking Cain-Boyarsky game, the last thing you would expect is a pure sci-fi game with vibrant color scheme and stylized graphics.

They certainly subverted everyone's expectations. Remember when it was initially revealed that this game was called 'The Outer Worlds'? Everyone was expecting a Mass Effect-like, not a New Vegas-like.

Embargo breaking mayhaps

The melee looks kinda like Daylight's melee. The way the characters moves when swinging the sword. And it seems you can disable much of the UI, compared to the previews it's much more clean. Thank godness.

Edit: Oh shit. The guy is skipping dialogue ffs. The facial animation seems a bit better than before tho. the guy play like fucking potato too argh.
