The people on the PRC Discord warned against using NIT.
Why?

Well, warned is perhaps a strong word. I just asked if I could install everything with NIT and then follow PRC instructions to install that on top next to my NIT installs, and the guy that currently maintains the mod said no, back up by a couple of users who told me I shouldn't use it generally.

@Luke Scull, I found another graphical anomaly. Kinnuki's unique helm (which can't be removed) casts some pretty bizarre ray-shaped shadows, especially from indoor light sources:
That looks like a mesh problem, I've seen it on some other mod content. Until Luke gets around to it, just use CCOHEE to target the companion and switch the head or helmet to a different model.

One'd think @Gargaune had made a modding guide or something
I don't use NIT myself, haven't felt the need yet, and I don't have that many mods to write a guide on. The only absolute must-haves I've got are the aforementioned CCOHEE and the NUI Spell Widget. There's also the OHS Henchman System for full party creation, but that's a more involved affair, and a multiclass scroll fix I manually swiped from the Community Patch, the rest are just minor knick-knacks.

If you're using the Override folder, though, I strongly suggest you swap to using Patch Haks instead. It's easy enough and will save you a lot of headaches in the long run, when your Override would otherwise become cluttered.

P.S. Not a mod, but don't forget to enable Player Party Controls. It's under Multiplayer -> Server -> Advanced, but yes, that means singleplayer too.

Lol, this game supposedly made for modding is harder to mod than hecking Baldur's Gate for a newbie :-D

I'm realizing now that I've already placed some mods in the patch folder and thus need to do all that .ini stuff, so the mods aren't actually loaded. No mention of this on any of the mods' pages. Grrr.

Thanks for the assist, Gargaune.

One thing I'm not sure whether I misunderstood or not is that this seems fucking ridicoulously time-consuming? I have maybe 12 visual mods installed and my override-folder is packed with stuff. To manually copy-paste all those file-names into a patch file... I get tired just thinking about it.

I love NWN's aesthetic, I'll literally never get tired of it. Part of it is probably due to nostalgia, but not all of it. I like how unique it is, especially nowadays with everyone trying to up the fidelity and everything ending up looking the same.
