you better drop that attitude mister, before I give you an old console right over your head, followed up by a karate kick that sends you into a pile of garbage, at which point I also karate kick you legs until you cant walk, and then I ride off on my Motocycle, just like Ralph Macho in his hit 1984 movie Karate Kids

Before this game had come out, I was apprehensive. Under other management, this could have been a System Shock Reforged fiasco. But this was nothing like that. It's so bloody good. The mechanics are good, the atmosphere is great, the logs are nice (except the character heads in the logs seem too much like variations on a basic theme). The station looks incredible in thrall of the inimitable Terri Brosius.

The final fight wasn't rubbish like System Shock 2. The cyberspace-like setting of it can be quibbled about. But can you really argue having Saturn as a backdrop?

The only definite thing I wished to be better was, as has been pointed out, the music.

That aside, amazing. A magnificent remake.

Have they said anything or even acknowledged the SS2 Remaster since the trailer a year ago? They seem to like stretching themselves thin across a handful of products at a time

Seems like a complete radio silence. Do they even have an actual team working on it, tho? Or is it just some "manager" doing a surprised pikachu because a bunch of outsourced moders did not deliver? The trailer did a great job at making the remaster seem completely pointless and that's on an usual pointless remasters scale, so whatever.

Oh, common! It was pretty bad. That final 1/3 of the fight really pissed me off. Those damn green things!
Yes. I don't disagree.

If System Shock 2's final fight (and ending) was rubbish, this Remake's final fight was less so.

And as was seen in the Remake, it is better not to embody SHODAN in a humanoid avatar, with arms and legs: it is far less comical.
