Hell yeah. Get NWN2 for MotB and never actually play it because you really want to finish the OC before that.
I know man. OCD is such a bitch.

In other news I grabbed NWN2 for $4. Not a bad deal at all.

Whelp, fully patched NWN2 including MoW for ~$4? Nice. Not that I plan to ever play it again, but hey... :logic:

Play Mysteries of Westgate, but don't powergame it! Pretend it's a PnP session, with your conservative DM carefully watching over your character creation. Make sure to fight in the arena.

Good stuff.

I picked up IWD 1&2. I actually owned both of these on disc back in the day. That was a long time ago and I can't remember much about them now (I didn't play either of them for very long). Is there any reason to play IWD? Or should I jump straight into 2? Time is precious.

Demon Stone is something else entirely. At its core, it is simply an action-game with unlockables, but the combat is great, enemies are very varied, the scripted action scenes are spectacular, and the biggest selling point to me was the absolutely amazing soundtrack. I don't even know why there are only three tracks that are easy to find online, I would have bought the CD without remorse. It plays much more like the two LotR games (Two Towers and Return of the King) than Dark Alliance or D&D Heroes, has great voice-acting (including Patrick Stewart... but that's a coincidence), and while it only lasts a few hours, it is easy to come back to for a quick mission.
Cheers for this. I thought those LotR games were a decent bit of fun, especially Two Towers, so I might give this a go sometime. Also, the GoG page says Michael Clarke Duncan does some voicework, I really liked that guy :(

Did it have local co-op? Might be fun for a while with my kid brother.

For a more typical top-down hack-and-slash, you can also try Dark Alliance 1 & 2, or the Xbox-only D&D Heroes (that one goes up to 4 players). While they won't amaze you with their depth, they offer a great time of mindless bashing with all the strong audiovisual fanservice that tend to make or break these games, like spell effects, armour design, or enemy pain / death animations.

Dark Alliance never came out for PC, either. There really is a dearth of PC games that provide local co-op with one computer.

If I support this, maybe people will realize that old Dungeons and Dragons games are profitable. Maybe this will lead to fix the rights issue for the Gold Box games, like was done with System Shock 2 recently. Maybe this will lead to a revival of FRUA, with its awesome 1st edition and BECMI adventure modules. Maybe this will lead to more support of Dungeon Craft, which will lead to it being finally finished. Maybe this will lead to Kickstarter efforts to emulate and improve upon the awesomeness of the Gold Box games. Maybe the Korean people on both sides of the DMZ will see the wonders of this old technology and be able to play FRUA on both old systems and new systems, creating a common bond and ultimately peace.

Yes, I will support this. For the greater good. And because I just sold my original Planescape: Torment CDs on Ebay and will use the profits to get myself a GOG digital version plus a crap ton of other games I already finished, but like to return to every so often. Except Dragonshard. What a piece of shit that was.

Got NWN 1&2 for about $7. Not a bad deal. Already had all the IE + ToEE games from their last sale. Like others I owned all of these already but it's so much easier to just download and install.

Bought them all, even though I have boxed version of almost everything in that bundle. I really don't want to patch NWN2 manually anymore, or juggle CDs for Baldur's Gate. Also, it's nice to have these games in English. Most of my copies are in potatospeak, as our distributors did not do dual language releases back then.
