Subverse DEV Diary #35
Hello all,

Development on 1.0 continues to roll along. I know a lot of you have been asking about the release date, and while we don't have an exact date yet our team is confident of hitting a Q4 2024 release. Rest assured once we complete the quality assurance process we will communicate the exact dates to you guys.

As you all know we are a tiny development team so please bear with us as we try to bring this mammoth project to completion. Even with all the streamlining of the exploration and less grinding it will still most likely clock in as a 30+ hour RPG so a lot of polish and testing is required in these final phases.

Our plan for 1.0 is to provide a complete baseline experience with all the main storyline, devotion quests (including movies), collectibles and systems functioning as a cohesive experience. Post-launch (1.1) we plan to keep supporting the game by providing activities after the credits roll, such as introducing the fourth-wall breaking Fow-Chan waifu.

I'm not sure why Studio FOW were so popular at the time. I guess people are really into shitty cgi videos of girls getting raped by dogs and monsters. FOW successfully tricked the coomers and built up the hype... and then just as successfully destroyed it with shitty delivery because they are not even developers lol. Probably. I mean the first thing this game did after accomplishing its kickstarter was cuck me: the pitch was the TB was going to be super fleshed out and deep, along with intricate levelling systems and relationship mechanics.

They scrapped ALL of that like 5 minutes after the kickstarter succeeded and would focus more on the shooter aspect, the TB was kept but was dumbed down to the point it might aswell not be there. Levelling and skill system also got completely gutted from what was advertised.

Me: Well it's only 1 bad call, i'm sure That Which Sleeps and Fear Effect: Sedna will prove much wiser investments for my money!
