If it weren't for Counter Monkey, the evil seed that begs for me to roleplay now would never have been fertilized

I guess that the poeple who want him less in cosplay had their wish granted with the end of FF XIII...

I do hope that he'll do a review of the Lou Ferrigno version of Hercules one day. It is so horribly cheesy and bad it's perfect for the Experiment. Plus, there is that one scene that may very well contest hanggliding from a pterodactyl to kick a caveman in the face as the most awesome scene ever put on film.

He's just put up two new videos.

They are about "Wrestling RPG's", so I don't know how much interest the will be to people who are not into that.

I found them fairly interesting as he shows the difference of something "slapped together to cash in on a fandom" vs something "made with love by fans for fans"...

I think that if they made the WWF game into a full-on wrestling/management game they could make something beautiful.

I really couldn't care less about wrestling, so I shut it off after a few minutes. It's good to see he's doing counter monkeys again, but on the other hand I suspect he's completely out of good stories to share. Maybe he should outsource and bring in other gamers to share their crazy stories - most gamers probably have a few interesting tales they're waiting to share (I know I have a few).

Or he could just start taking stuff from /tg/. I have an entire folder full of amusing and/or heartfelt gaming-related screencaps.

In short: the D20 game sucked balls and D20 is poor for simulating wrestling (and the Undertaker has 21 Strength), the orignal WWF is a game written by people who know their wrestling and written the rules from that point of view (including mechanics on scoring points as the good/bad guy like opening in a traditional wrestling ways or cowering against incoming blows, rules on managing your wrestler(s) and even rules for having to play out bits from the movies/commercials your wrestler appears in). The original game is a very good but extremly complex simulation, while the other can end rounds in just a few rolls (pin your opponent and more or less get 2 out of 3 rounds you have to win for free if you're the bad guy).

I'd prefer to hear him talk about the Planes and such, especially the Great Ring. I am sucker for the Planescape setting and everything in it.

Or talk about some of the stranger monsters in the series. The guy who drew the old image for his website, Jared von Hindman, is known for his "really fucking weird monsters" list in D&D circles: maybe do some of that.

I know which is my favorite weird monster: it's a construct from The Plane Above (4e supplement regarding the Astral Plane). As to why, just wait until you get to its loot...

One hundred longswords. No magical swords, just regular swords. 400 lb. of longswords, netting at 1500 gp. Have fun with that, adventurers!

I'll admit I zoned out around half-way through, but...

Who the fuck plays low-level A/D&D and expect rogues to work?
And what kind of inept GM blames his failures on the group splitting up?

You probably didn't miss out on anything. I miss the time when youtube limitations forced him to make his points in an efficient manner. Now that he can ramble for hours on end he really should either script those monstrosities (nothing major, bullet points would do so that he at least avoids repeating the same point fifty times as he tends to do) or edit them down after the fact.

Tangentially, I think there's some pretty decent arguments to be made for letting everyone have at least a passable level of competence in skills (or whatever) such as climbing, stealth, swimming, driving, riding & the like.

Even if the PCs are supposed to be scrubs, they're usually still supposed to have some chance of passing for professionals.

Additionally, in a lot of situations I can very much see even things like stealth functioning as a group or AoE skill, with the competent PC leading the crew, doing the rolls (if any) and suffering complications/modifiers/whatever based on just how bad a bunch of bumbling a crew he's leading.

It's one of several reasons I really liked the initial skill system FFG designed for the Dark Heresy system they cancelled.

It's kind of like what he had mentioned in an earlier video: if you step onto a boat, you're gonna get wet. Hope you got some points in swimming.

I understand that if you're wearing 30 kg of metal and a huge fuck-off shield water's going to be a problem, but there is plenty of middle ground between not having negative consequences to fucking up to failing one roll and the Save or Die roll. And while you can expect some cleverness from your players, you cannot and should not expect them to pull a tactical genius on you in every single encounter.

That would require work, Spoony has demonstrated time and time again that he can't be bothered to do any of that. If he could not or would not put any work in preparing for the interview with Garriot (which he is a fan of) why do you expect him to put any work in his D&D Vlogs? He just wants to ramble and get paid for it. Adblock is the way to go, until this shit changes.

On the contrary. If they could move to a new house, and his only income is from doing videos, he is doing quite well. I just can't understand how.

How can he be "doing quite well" if he doesn't even have a 65-inch plasma TV, I ask you? Also, I think he had a bed on there at some point which was quite funny to see.

Yeah, I don't hate D&D so much that I wouldn't babble semi-coherently about it on camera for 10 mins, in return for a 65'' plasma TV.
