SpaceBourne 2 Early Access Ver. 4.1.6 Released
SpaceBourne 2 Early Access Ver. 4.1.6

New Features And Changes:
This update might seem small in terms of text, but it is extensive in content.

  • • We are excited to introduce new story missions and side quests that will provide hours of gameplay. Additionally, we've added several new features to enhance your experience. As these additions are closely tied to the storyline, we are keeping the details confidential to ensure a spoiler-free experience.

  • • Creatures have been added to planetary surfaces. Now, each type of planet hosts a habitat with roaming wildlife appropriate to its environment. However, we would like to note that this feature is currently in prototype form for testing purposes. We plan to expand this content based on future feedback, particularly regarding performance.

  • • The Turkish language has been updated.

**BUG FIXES:**
Reported by players as follows:

  • • Some Xeghan stations are not unlocking the station's internal level. After entering the station, I find myself floating in a dark void.

  • • When accessing my freelancers in the Faction Menu, I am unable to change the type of missions I want my Freelancers to focus on.

  • • Despite leaving the Mothership at a station, I can still see it floating in space in every system (We have not been able to reproduce this bug, but have taken precautions to prevent its recurrence. Please report it if you encounter this issue again).

  • • When I engage in combat within a station, I sometimes receive a “you have been killed” message instantly, even when my health is full. I am forced to reload the game.

  • • Even though I have captured the mayor at a station, they are not being added to my list of prisoners.

  • • I am stuck at the “Talk to Xema in the Council building” objective in my mission but cannot enter the Council building. Clicking on the door does nothing.

  • • If I exit my ship while ascending from a planet's surface, my character stays in the atmosphere, but the ship moves far away. I can reach the ship, but the game does not progress.

  • • When I engage in war with one faction, suddenly 5-6 other factions also declare war on me, even though there are no diplomatic relations between these factions when I check.

  • • Sometimes when I trade, I sell containers on my trade ship but receive much less money than normal.

  • • When the Warp drive is disabled during missions, if I am using a ship with decking on the mothership, I can only warp using the ship I am in. The mothership’s warp drive remains offline.

  • • During station battles, when I approach support buildings near a planet, it throws me into the middle of the battlefield as if I had entered the planet.

  • • The laser rifle's firing sound gets stuck in a loop and keeps playing if I change weapons while firing. This continues until the game is closed.

  • • If I start a new game with the same character name while I have a saved game, when I load the old save files, the mission progress remains as in the old saved game, but the character is the new one.

  • • When adding extra weapon slots to some ships and equipping weapons, the newly added weapons overlap at the ship's origin point, causing all weapons to fire from the same location.

SpaceBourne 2 Early Access Ver. 5.0.0 Released
SpaceBourne 2 Early Access Ver. 5.0.0

First of all,
this is one of the biggest updates yet.
The main story has been polished and renewed, with major improvements to the story, missions, dialogues, animations, and locations.

We strongly recommend starting the story from the beginning to fully enjoy the updated experience.
While your previous save files won’t be deleted, using them may lead to unexpected issues. Starting fresh will give you the best experience with all the latest enhancements.

New Features & Changes:
  • Added a radio system that plays on the ship, featuring broadcasts, news, and commercials.
  • Introduced a quick access menu that players can design (accessible with the "U" key).
  • Revamped interiors for many maps and stations, now with mini-maps added to all.
  • Added new chain side quests with unique rewards linked to them.
  • Players can now transfer cargo directly between ships at station consoles.
  • Added a "Refill Rockets" button upon docking at any station, allowing automatic refills for previously loaded rockets with a single press.
  • Added a combat drones interface to the ship menu.
  • Removed deadlines from side missions.
  • Balanced and optimized unbalanced faction raids.
  • Updated decision-making interfaces for faction meetings to a 2D style, making choices easier.
  • Balanced item drop rates, overhauling the drop economy.

Bug Fixes:
Reported by players as follows:

  • All reported bugs in the main story are now resolved.
  • When I press "T" while my ship is taking off, both the ship and interface mouse cursors appear, causing bugs.
  • In the character menu, every stat tooltip shows as "Armor."
  • If I turn on the light with "L" while using the jetpack, my character falls to the ground.
  • Connecting my VKB joystick to the PC causes a crash.
  • I can capture systems in diplomacy by forming alliances.
  • In the "Training Soldiers" interface, it adds a blank slot that I can’t use again.
  • The meshes of mayors in stations are broken, and I can’t interact with them.
  • Allocating power to engines slows down my ship instead of speeding it up.
  • If I click on another item right after buying one in the widget, the SOLD item shows as unpurchased, and the bought item shows 0 TY, and I can buy an empty item.
  • Equipping/restocking consumables in flight makes me lose my equipment (weapons/components).
  • When my character falls, they start spinning uncontrollably, and I lose all control.
  • The balanced faction ship has drone slots but no drone perks to launch them.
  • When I enter or exit a station, my character jumps once on the spot.
  • When I take damage while flying, I lose control of my character, breaking the game.
  • If I switch weapons while firing, sometimes two weapons continue firing simultaneously.
  • After deploying my drones and warping, they stay in the game, won’t follow me, and can’t be recalled.
  • Destroyed or traded stations still show up as offerable in diplomacy.
  • In the diplomacy panel, I can repeatedly offer the same station.
  • When I call my squad in space and immediately warp away, calling them again causes them to stack on top of each other.
  • The minimap at Falron stations opens up blank.
  • Turret firing effects on the ground show as black squares.
  • If I change the camera after landing in the cockpit, the HUD disappears and doesn’t return.
  • My sniper bullets don’t drop when I fire.
  • Exiting the StationUpgrade console in WRA capital station makes the entire HUD disappear.
  • Ground bosses keep shooting upward if I fly by them, even if they’re already dead.
  • Character perks and electric weapons don’t affect creatures properly, and some perks deal too much damage.
  • Some creature bosses die in a single hit.
  • On the mothership: if I have a ship on deck and try to summon another one inside the station, it fails.
  • When I transfer items from the ship console on the mothership, they sometimes duplicate.
  • After disembarking on the mothership deck, I can’t re-board my ship.
  • Items in the mothership inventory disappear when I switch ships.
  • When I warp with a ship from the mothership deck, I can’t access any UI, and I can’t return to the mothership.
  • Some missions aren’t compatible with motherships and break the game if I attempt them in a mothership.
  • Mothership drones either don’t work or spawn with errors.
  • After releasing drones on the mothership, they disappear from the field after save-loading, though they show as active in the subsystem.
  • When I use ships on the mothership deck, sometimes stats mix up between them, causing the mothership to be destroyed quickly.
  • Bombardments on the mothership deal too much damage.
  • The burning effect on the mothership doesn’t go away even after the fire is put out.
  • After leaving the mothership, the mesh collision breaks, letting my ship pass through it.
  • If I warp while repairing a ship on the mothership deck, the repair laser effects stay on my ship.
  • And more than 40 minor bugs and errors were fixed.

NOTE
: Since the main story and dialogues have been significantly updated, we haven’t yet translated them into languages other than English. If you’d like to play in a different language, we recommend waiting, as translations will be added in upcoming updates.

"Creatures have been added to planetary surfaces. Now, each type of planet hosts a habitat with roaming wildlife appropriate to its environment. "

I've played many hours since this update and have yet to find any creature on planets.

Has anyone actually seen this?

Thank you for your patience and support as we move closer to delivering the ultimate SpaceBourne 2 experience!

Here’s a comprehensive list of the resolved issues and improvements:

  • New auto-aim and movement mechanics.
  • New widget navigation system.
  • New preset and preset saving system.
  • New Runtime button indicators were added to the game.
  • Many other features were added to enhance gamepad controls.

Note: To perfect gamepad support, we’ve temporarily limited multi-device HOTAS support. I appreciate your understanding.
Miner’s Guild Contracts: The Miner’s Guild now features continuously updated trade-based contracts. Ores obtained from mining are now much more valuable.

New Miner’s Guild Contract Consoles: Dedicated contract consoles have been added to the interior of the Miner’s Guild.

Steam Achievements: SpaceBourne 2 now supports Steam Achievements.

Steam Cloud Save: SpaceBourne 2 now supports Steam Cloud Save.

Steam Leaderboards: The Steam leaderboard system has been integrated into the game. A new leaderboard interface has been added to the pause menu for easy access.

Swimming Added: Swimming mechanics have been introduced for the water surfaces on planetary terrains.

Stats and Perks Overhauled: Stats and perks have been rebalanced. Tier 3 versions of many perks have been added to the game. The issue where high-level players couldn’t progress their perk statuses has been resolved.

Bug Fixes:

Reported by players as follows:

  • In the "Saving Anka" mission, sometimes the guards at the prison entrance don’t appear, and I can’t progress because they don’t move.
  • When I complete Operations, they don’t show up on the leaderboard, and I don’t get any achievements.
  • In the "Warmaker" and "Feast of the Stars" missions, if I use a disguise and then activate my jetpack, a metahuman cloak and related items appear and stay permanently.
  • The "Warmaker" mission doesn’t progress after a certain point.
  • Sometimes I see level 1 items in the market that shouldn’t be there.
  • In the "Saving Anka" mission, I get a "You are leaving the mission zone" warning even though I’m inside the correct area.
  • In the "Saving the Anka" mission, a wall appears in front of me inside the prison, blocking my path.
  • I can complete "The Big Meeting" mission without meeting its actual requirements.
  • During the Mothership buy phase in the "Big Meeting" mission, I can’t see the mothership in the ship market.
  • In the "Council Management Application" mission, both of Xema’s ships remain intact when one should be destroyed.
  • If I start from the first mission’s checkpoint, my HUD disappears and I get stuck, unable to leave.
  • If I leave a planet with Volken and land manually, I can’t take off again.
  • After completing the Anka mission, the explosion effect remains visible in space.
  • Whenever I try to build a Factory or Mining station, it gets stuck at 100% and then disappears, as if I never built it, even though it uses up my resources.
  • The Zelandria village spawns at the edge of the world, and when I go there with my ship, I encounter an empty void.
  • In the "Saving Anka" mission, the radio keeps playing while Anka and Drane transmissions persist even after the mission is finished.
  • In the "Saving Anka" mission, two different music tracks play simultaneously in Xelda Prison.
  • If I load a save file during the "Saving Anka" mission, I can fly around inside Xelda Prison.
  • In "The Constractor" mission, I can’t warp anywhere initially; all warp targets are locked and only become available after a save-load.
  • In faction stations, multiple service machines pile up near the market area, causing intense lighting and making some machines inaccessible.
  • When I return to the present in Zelandria village, Velora isn’t there.
  • In raids, the numbers on the right side of the UI overlap each other.
  • I can repeatedly plunder the same system over and over to exploit it.
  • If I die during a plunder raid and then load the "raidstarted" save, the convoys remain idle. Attacking them does nothing, but I still gain EXP, tools, and cash (though no materials).
  • After plundering and capturing a system, even though the system belongs to me now, I’m still prompted to make a manual jump to another system.
  • There are invisible treasure chests on the ground.
  • When we enter any dungeon, if there is any enemy beside me that made me go into ragdoll mode, I enter the dungeon but I cannot move from then on.
  • I can climb onto rocks in the monster dungeons. They can't attack me from there.
  • There are gaps between the walls of the dungeon. I can escape from those places.
  • Mission difficulty does not always match cave difficulty. Time to complete is way too tight.
  • I fell into the void in the treasure room, trying to reach the lift.
  • In some cases, enemies killed themselves, including the boss.
  • In the Faction War section, the enemies in W.R.A.'s Enemies tab do not display my enemies.
  • I can perform operations on our own house's station.
  • Operations material rewards are inconsistent and unbalanced.
  • Soldiers can be upgraded even without being a General.
  • Too many ships spawn in Mail missions, making them difficult.
  • In Castle Siege, even if we win, the towers continue to shoot at us.
  • Turrets at the camps on the planet shoot at us from too far away.
  • The rewards on the Bounty Board are unbalanced.
  • After cleaning a village, if I leave the planet and return, it says "Looted" but NPCs and environmental sounds are still present.
  • There is a quest giver at captured stations.
  • At Smen's Workshop, when I jump after stepping on something, I get thrown outside the level.
  • In space, character skills can be used.
  • In Bounty Hunter missions, I don’t know how to perform a scan, and there is no tutorial.
  • In the Mercenary Guild section, being able to access behind the quest giver breaks the immersion.
  • The flags in Guilds are sometimes incorrect.
  • If a raid begins, and I warp to the integration station and continue, after finishing the raid with my team, if I don’t press Y, the tutorial continues after the raid ends.
  • In the Vessel Venture mission, the factory tutorial appears next to the "Mission objective" instead of the trade one.
  • After clicking the bombard, my cursor often lands on the shield, causing me to click it by mistake. The bomb doesn't drop, and the bomb count is still reduced.
  • In Castle Sieges, if I have a weapon and enter siege mode, the aim cursor remains visible.
  • The voices of characters in the Pursuit mission are outdated.
  • I cannot create a Sub-House.
  • In Castle Siege, if I upgrade my troops before starting, they do not update, and the upgraded version doesn't spawn.
  • In Castle Sieges, when using the Bombard widget, the top panel doesn't update to reflect changes.
  • The Dock tutorial doesn't appear on the left during our first visit to Axa Station.
  • In the "Expended" mission, even after adding 7 soldiers, the mission didn't progress.
  • A custom-made weapon I purchased from the Guild didn’t appear in my inventory.
  • If we exit a heavy fighter near the surface, we fall beneath the ground, and since the boarding point is underground, we can't re-enter the ship.
  • The weapon of a deceased NPC remained floating in the air.
  • Players can't read other government systems on the screen and are forced to select "Order."
  • If AI ragdolls us while exiting the elevator, it causes a game-breaking issue.
  • The "Back" button doesn't work when establishing a House.
  • Jen's cave is floating high in the air.
  • Mercenary missions are not working.
  • My drones duplicated during spawning, doubling their count.
  • When I take the Brotherhood Guild mission and kill any civilian at a random station before warping to Brotherhood HQ, it says I’ve joined the Brotherhood Guild. However, if I progress with the Brotherhood mission, it requires me to kill a civilian to join the Guild.
  • I can declare war on myself, including on my own Houses.
  • In the GLX mail system, the drafts, archive, and trash sections are non-functional, and the search feature doesn’t work either.
  • "House House" is displayed instead of the proper name for the Houses I’ve established.
  • My hover bike transformed into a glitchy object after pressing "break connection."
  • I sometimes can’t see the Mothership warp target.
  • The "Conspirational" story mission asks me to go to the "ambush route," but even in the correct system, there’s no story waypoint.
  • In the "The Archive" mission, if I escape without killing the AIs, they fall off the map and don’t get destroyed.
  • After the credits, the game doesn’t return to the main menu.
  • Whenever I try to build a Factory or a Mining Station, it gets stuck at 100% completion, then disappears as if I never tried to build it, but it still consumes my resources.
  • If I place a Mining Ship on the deck and repeatedly enter and exit the deck, the attached ship parts become invisible.
  • Stats don’t work at the beginning of the game.
  • In "Rebuilding a Friend," the dialogue with Smen doesn’t progress.
  • A "0x quantity" error appears in the cargo inventory.
  • When I click "Learn" for perks, no points are deducted, and I can’t assign them.
  • In "Saving Anka," the atomic bomb explosion effect follows me after taking my father’s ship and flying into space.
  • When traveling locally or between systems in warp, the character portrait flashes and distorts, but it returns to normal when stopping. This issue is worse during inter-system travel.

First and foremost, we wish all our players a happy and prosperous New Year! Thank you for your continued support and feedback – your contributions help us shape the universe of SpaceBourne 2. Here are the latest updates and fixes to start the year off right:

SpaceBourne 2 Early Access Ver. 5.2.0

New Features & Changes:

Multilingual Support Reintroduced

The game’s multilingual support has been redefined. As of now, the following languages are available:

• English
• Turkish
• German
• French
• Italian
• Russian
• Polish
• Spanish

Additionally, the following languages are currently in the translation phase:

• Chinese Simplified
• Chinese Traditional
• Japanese
• Hungarian
• Portuguese (Brazilian)

Some translations have been assisted by AI, which may result in occasional grammatical errors or awkward phrasing. However, we are opening in-game texts to all early access players.
We would greatly appreciate your help in correcting any mistakes you notice in your native language through Crowdin. Your feedback will directly improve the game's localization.

Class Overhaul and Balancing
In-game subclasses have been reorganized and their effectiveness has been enhanced. The starting classes have been expanded with more content, and their impact on gameplay has been significantly increased.

Note: If you are using an old save, the game will automatically select the class closest to the one you previously chose.

Perk Adjustments and Additions
Non-functional and unbalanced perks have been reworked. New and more effective perks have been added to the game to enhance gameplay.

Scanner System Update
The scanner system has been improved, and new points of interest that can be discovered through scanning in space have been added. (This feature is still in development, and additional functionalities will be introduced in future updates.)

Faction Battle Balancing and Tracking
Galaxy wars and faction battles have been rebalanced. Additionally, ongoing faction battles are now added to the player’s journal as missions for better tracking and engagement.

Save System Improvements
The save system has been optimized for better performance. Autosaves have been added at all critical points throughout the game.

Bug Fixes:

Reported by players as follows:

  • Nova Squad can trigger mines that I set on the ground.
  • In the Galaxy Atlas, the system always says "Stations 2" even if that is not true.
  • I can assign Faction Generals to Mail Missions.
  • When I attack an unowned system, the battle progress UI at the top of the screen shows no flag, "none" as the system name, and the system's level as 0.
  • I was instantly teleported back to Axa's Station while talking to Smen in a different star system.
  • The catcher probe says there are echoes, but no signal appears.
  • Echoes percentage sometimes goes to infinity and beyond.
  • In cave dungeons on planet surfaces, I sometimes fall off the map when interacting with the elevator.
  • I can't escape from reinforcement ships in stations during raids.
  • The hoverbike moves on its own when I eject from it.
  • In the opposition mission, the details tab reveals the entire quest, leading to spoilers.
  • In "Faction -> Overview," the "Members" count does not increment when returning manpower to the pool.
  • When using any consumable, if I have two left, both are used instead of one.
  • "The Big Meeting" can be completed without meeting the requirements.
  • In "Rebuilding a Friend," Smen tells you to check on his friend Koron, but at the end, he mistakenly says the wrong name.
  • The G key becomes unresponsive for leaving the ship when landed.
  • Unequipping melee weapons by pressing RMB does not work in the character interface.
  • If I assign the middle mouse button for interaction cursor mode, once I disable it, the ship controls become locked.
  • Nova Squad Soldiers never take damage.
  • Alaysia remains in space after I speak to her at the capital station.
  • In the first mission, the amount of ammo given is too little.
  • When entering the Freelancers Guild, my character becomes invisible in the character UI, and the effects are too bright.
  • Unexpected tutorial pop-ups appear when docking at space stations.
  • Sometimes I can't see my mouse cursor when opening the scanner.
  • In some systems, there are two planets with the same name.
  • Tier 2 of the "Less Energy" perk is not working correctly.
  • "None" factions sometimes appear as battle participants in the Galaxy War interface.
  • The perk that increases bank slots does not work.
  • When I cancel my warp, my squad warps anyway, and my camera gets stuck closer to the ship.
  • Missile/torpedo icons do not appear.
  • If there is an ongoing battle in the system I'm in, and it ends before I arrive, the battle persists indefinitely.
  • After opening and closing a market interface, I can't activate the interaction cursor for a while.
  • Changing Gamepad presets does not save at all.
  • Sometimes my consumables are deleted.
  • Missiles sometimes fail to load.
  • When assigning Molyax as my co-pilot, he does not deal any damage.
  • I can't start a Galaxy War after postponing it.

Strap Yourselves In
This game is utterly fascinating so far. That's all I really have to say about it for now other than... still learning, but it's incredible the amount of freedom you have.

Even in just the tutorial mission, you:

- Start off on your home planet and receive the mission

- Walk to your starting ship

- Take off from the planet manually then leave its atmosphere

- Set your target to warp to

- Engage and destroy enemy scout ships

- Approach a field of debris as your target

- Eject from your ship after getting closer using a cloaking shield

- EVA through space to "land" on a portion of a destroyed station

- Engage in what is surprisingly good "fps" combat with your grav boots

- Grab the objective

- Escape back to your ship after being ambushed and before your ship is blown up

- Destroy one last ship

- Fly back to safety to receive your reward

---

I'm sure it's been said many times already in this thread that the game is QUITE janky, but it seems to add to its appeal, as far as I can tell so far. It very much reminds me of Daggerfall in space and might just be a game that one (I) can enjoy for an hour or two, come back to periodically, and just sort of fuck around with hopefully for years to come.

Can't wait for more polish, expansion to the game, bug fixing, and especially TYPO CORRECTION. For fuck's sake, "Engage cloack"?

Anyway, very neat. A hobbyist's space game.
