We're seeing the devs at Gamescom - there's probably only time for one or two questions, but I'm sure we can come up with something good! (post them here)

If you aspire to be a truly investigative journalist you won't shy away from the one tough question that's on everybody's mind yet no one dares to ask: Will the Thunderhawks feature transgender bathrooms? Follow up: If not, why are the Devs following a hidden agenda by intentionally discriminating minorities?

Yeah, Dawn of War 2 had a black librarian. Is this game a regression in inclusiveness on Games Workshop products?

Codex 2014

Coming in November.

Powered by Unreal 4, Space Hulk: Deathwing is a first person shooter with tactical elements set in Games Workshop's gritty Warhammer 40k Universe. In today's Gamescom trailer, witness the Deathwing squad inspired by the Battle Hymn of Vengeance (written by renowned 40k author Gav Thorpe), hold a last stand against a swarm of insurmountable Genestealers.

Play in coop with friends in a Dark Angels Terminator squad of the elite Deathwing, dispatched to eradicate the Genestealer threat on Space Hulk Olethros, a cluster of derelict ships and debris collected over years of war. Playable in single or multiplayer, lead your squad through xeno-infested ships and debris as you search for the source of ominous psychic disturbances.

Your Terminator and your squad can be customized - skills can be learned and levelled up, and you can choose a wide variety of ranged and melee weapons to bring in to the Space Hulk. During battle, command your team to hold choke points, hack into doors, and cover your advance. Nothing is as it seems in Space Hulk Olethros, and with a story co-written by acclaimed Dark Angels writer Gavin Thorpe, you can be sure that easter eggs are hidden around every corner.

Don the Terminator power armor and bring glory to the Emperor in Space Hulk: Deathwing when the game launches in November 2016 on PC!

The Battle Hymn of Vengeance

Greetings Admirals!

We’ve received a lot of requests for the ‘lyrics’ of the Battle Hymn of Vengeance uttered in our latest trailer, so we created the image below. This should give you plenty of time to memorize the Hymn in time for Space Hulk: Deathwing’s launch this November on PC, and truly bring glory to the Emperor!

As we draw closer to launch, we’re going to be releasing a series of Devblog posts on this Facebook page that go over some of the stuff you can expect to see in Space Hulk: Deathwing.

Today, we’d like to talk a bit about the game’s story and the involvement of Gav Thorpe.

The Story of Space Hulk: Deathwing

A colossal mass of derelict ships, asteroids and debris, known as a Space Hulk, has spilled from the Warp. It’s entered into a system where the Imperium is already beset by a Tyranid hive swarm - the immense Space Hulk is dubbed ‘Olethros’.

The Dark Angels Chapter of the Space Marines answer the astropathic emergency calls from beleaguered worlds in the system. However, it’s a more important quest that ultimately draws the Dark Angels to the warzone.

14188139_1055527754523091_1961853611776008502_o.jpg

Azrael - Supreme Grand Master of the Dark Angels - receives dire premonitions from his psychic Librarians and dispatches a strike fleet to Olethros. Belial – Grandmaster of Dark Angels’ 1st Company, the Deathwing – is charged with boarding the Space Hulk.

Azrael’s psykers believe the strange visions emanating from Olethros foretell disaster. Not only this, but they seem intrinsically linked with the distant past of the Dark Angels chapter.

You are the Librarian who has been chosen to enter the Genestealer-infested Space Hulk with your squad. In Space Hulk: Deathwing, you’ll venture deep into Olethros in order to uncover the dark secrets within…

Gav Thorpe

Gav Thorpe has written and contributed to an incredible number of works in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. While working at Games Worshop,
his bibliography included the Codex: Dark Angels (3rd Edition), Codex: Space Marines (4th Edition), and the Warhammer 40,000 4th Edition Rulebook.

Since leaving Games Workshop, Thorpe has gone on to write a number of popular novels set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. These include the Last Chancers series, Legacy of Caliban series, and several books in the Horus Heresy series.

Gav Thorpe has worked closely with us in creating Space Hulk: Deathwing’s story. With over two decades’ worth of Dark Angels knowledge, Thorpe has been an incredible asset in ensuring Space Hulk: Deathwing offers a rich, authentic narrative to explore while blasting away the tides of Genestealers!

Stay tuned to our Facebook page for more Devblogs in the near future.

All glory to the Emperor!

I wonder if the SP will be worth it.

This is probably the single most important question for any game. Brofisted. :salute:

Also, looks p. cool. Will probably :d1p: Too bad its not orks though. Why they keep making games of shit tier factions and races in 40k universe (anyone not orks), I don't know, but such is life.

We are pleased to showcase an elite Terminator squad of the Deathwing as they cleanse a gigantic Space Hulk of the Xeno threat.

Space Hulk: Deathwing is playable cooperatively as well as in single player. You can join forces as up to four friends, with each of you playing a tactical role in Space Hulk: Deathwing. As the Librarian, you can take up arms with the infamous Storm Bolter and harness psychic powers to unleash destruction on the enemy.

The Deathwing veteran can mow down Genestealers with his assault cannon, while the Apothecary is tasked with keeping the squad alive. Finally, a tactician specialist can support the team with a passive buff as well as other abilities, which is useful for controlling the swarms of Genestealers. Teamwork is the key to success against the insurmountable enemy force, constantly flooding through the tunnels and corridors of the Space Hulk.

Players will be able to pre-order the game on Steam today around 7PM (CEST), and will benefit from the following bonuses:
• 15% off the price of the game
• 1 in-game weapon – the Lost Mace of Corswain
