Illustrates why the more serious versions of Sonic, like that European '90s comic series, are such BS
That bit is from the American comic IIRC. There's no European comic, unless you count the British one, which was good.

I'm sceptical that even the second Sat AM show really worked well. Haven't watched it since I was a kid.
It didn't, it was terrible, came out too late since Sonic Adventure was out, and it got cancelled after 1 season. It was more of the same of SatAM but worse.
At least SatAm got a second season with an ending where Eggman is dealt with... Which hasn't been a thing in any other media of Sonic, heh.
Time to binge buy on dvd... or is there a high blue seas that will DL FAST!

There's certain webpages that could help you, like say the letters "s" and "flix" put together...

British comic is what I meant. My brother had the German translations and I kind of had to be sneaky about reading them. They probably take themselves too seriously for the art style and that source material.

By second Sat AM show, I meant the one that came after Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, the second Jaleel White show. I plan to watch it again after I finish Adventures of Sonic. Haven't fully since we left Germany in 1997. Probably overrated.

Not really, that's the American comic. The British one is 2000AD Sonic, and it's over the top.

That's Sonic Satam and was aired together with Adventures of Sonic. But, while the latter is Looney Tunes style hijinks, the other is serious and bleaker. Except for Antoine, who exist solely to show someone hates royals and to drag down the show.

Yeah, lined up (like in concentration camp) talking cartoon animals weeping as their friends and loved ones are roboticized, not sure I can take it seriously anymore. The roboticizer is ridiculous, by way. In Mega Drive world, would imagine the animals being encased plate by plate, cable by cable.

Tails as a side character, lame.

Opening music is super gay.

Still have a long way to go before Adventures is over. Have to use bookmarks because can't split the episodes properly.

It's the logical conclusion of shoving animals into machines and using them as batteries. It was recycled for the latest comics, the IDW ones, whose quality according to posters here is low. I skimmed some of them and I found them safe compared to the unhinged Archie and the British ones, as it's pretty much the games in comics version, with not too many surprises, except for some horror elements that feel strange to see in a Sonic comic.

Tails as a side character, lame.
Always have been, sadly. He got worse the latest decade, but he'll remain that until/if he gets another game of his own. If Tails' case is bad, Knuckles and Shadow have it worse, nevermind Silver.

That's a lot of episodes, yep.

Better not be bad-mouthing this 90s classic! Awesome art and animation, charming music and sound (intro take it or leave it, sure), fun drama jokes and action, always something interesting happening, very fast pacing, and always ends in a quick educational message as all kid shows should.

I never did watch it past the first season tho.

Nice to see Sega giving a shit.

I'm reading this at the moment. It's obviously written for children and comics suck but I'm enjoying it. They go out of their way to make Sonic and Megaman both look strong. Sonic beats Megaman and Megaman beats Sonic until the obvious team up. There's a sequel which is Marvel X Sega I'm wanting to read after. Would recommend tracking it down.

I disagree. The Sonic and Megaman combo completely takes over the plot of Sonic comics, replacing it with Megaman's plot, and requires tracking down multiple comics of different series. They could have made it is own series but nope, you have to follow 3 different lines to get all of them. Even better, this crossover failed and Archie retconned half of the Sonic comic book lore, ending up with a bland and safe mess that slowly but surely died until the plug was pulled out in 2018.
Then there's the second crossover, with MMX as you say, that takes over the plot of an ongoing Sonic arc, interrupting it, with Sigma doing what Sigma usually does: Becoming a god-like being that must be destroyed. IMO, Megaman games don't have enough plot to work as comics, especially in a crossover.

Apparently there's been some leask of the incoming Sonic Gen HD and Shadows game.

Besides the usual like cutscenes and the Shadow's final boss, there's been reveals that not only has the dialogue been changed to make it more fitting with Ian's interpretation of the games, even though the dialogue was minimal, he also woke-ified some dialogues and text (no idea about the OG Jap version).
For example, that scene at the start where Sonic pushes away Amy while she tried to grab Sonic, has been replaced with Amy holding a cake and being ignored. The bit in her bio about chasing Sonic is also gone, rendering the funny unintentional one-sided romance between these two null.
Rouge's outfit has also been slightly censored. Now, her back is completely covered instead of exposing a bit of skin.

Remember: Hetero man bad!

I played Sonic Generations years ago and I had an absolute blast. Is one of the few games that I remember completely. Most levels and plot points, even specific moments. I'm glad Shadow is getting the spotlight now, he was the original Edgy Symbol. Hopefully this means other cool characters can get some eventually.
Sega giving a shit
They don't. The game is getting censored hard.

I pirated it when it came out (or my brother did and I played it with him), found it kind of mid, thought a few times about playing it again and now read the censorship comments and can't find keys for the delisted game on any third party sites.

Someone put this on the review page:

- Amy's character description and lines of dialogue no longer reference her infatuation with Sonic. Her character has been essentially rewritten to be a bland nice girl instead of an obsessive fangirl with a one-sided crush.

- A line where Knuckles asks Old Sonic if he's gained some weight is completely changed. This is a harmless reference to old Sonic's rounder design that differs from his more modern iteration, but we can't even have that little joke anymore. Because body positivity or something.

- Rouge's outfit has been changed to cover up her upper back. Because female characters showing any amount of skin is bad.

- A scene where Sonic holds Amy's face to keep her from getting into his personal space was altered to simply have Amy randomly holding cupcakes in the background. Because any slapstick or a male character setting up boundaries is toxic, I guess.

If you TV show watchers decide to get to Sonic X, I would say not to skip it, season 1 kinda sucks, season 2 is a SA2 rip off, however I am not a massive sonic fanboy but Sonic X season 3 is pretty good and highlights Tails character and his dynamic with sonic.

Except for the final episodes of Season 3, which are complete shit and take a dump on Tails, his relationship with a girl he met, Shadow acting extra-edgy, and plant-based aliens using lots of machinery(???). Oh, and the wives of said aliens deciding to genocide all of their husbands for the crime of attempting to defend their own homeplanet against invaders, by taking life-force from third parties. Rather than discussing it or something, the women bombed the planet, destroying it AND blaming their husbands. Those that survived became twisted incarnations of evil and fought back, killing nearly everyone of the women and then going extra-hard on conquering the galaxy anyway. And one of the last women of the species was hypnotized to become a sleeper agent, as in... A plant. *yeah*
Oh, and these plants power-up form is a giant dinosaur thing (????).
It's a trip, for good and bad (mostly bad).

I mostly like it for when
Tails thinks Sonic will save Cosmo since Sonic always wins right? Only for Sonic to come back empty handed and he lets Tails cry on him and he doesnt say anything because he knows he failed his best bud. Its just a sad scene for Tails

It feels out of place, and that's nothing compared to

The girl begging Tails to kill her to save the universe, which he does, duh.

It felt a quite out-of-place and sudden dark ending to enforce status quo. And that annoying kid couldn't even die or something but was still around being annoying.
