Almost every issue I had with inventory management has already been addressed, so I don't really know what you're referring to. There's some very irksome stuff (like the monk not being able to "equip" unarmed strikes and a weapon at the same time, but it's very minor).

No shared inventory so you have to idiotically drag around items, no filter or proper sorting options.

Ruins of Ith-whatever is also garbo.
Garbo game, garbo ruleset, garbo devs.

German women do exist after all.

Despite Solasta's shortcomings, TA is doing God's work in the RPG field: adapting game mechanics as faithfully as possible.

Yea, except 5e is shit. Faithfully recreated shit is still shit. But I understand, Dexers love the taste of shit as long as it came from the correct asshole.

This explains why you posted FOUR PAGES of comments in the thread for a (and I quote) shit game based on a garbage ruleset from garbage developers.

You hate everything about this game. It's fine. Just learn to let go of the anger and embrace the absurd and unthinkable concept of not playing games you don't like. This is at least the second time I see you obsess over a game you despise.

They couldn't even alter the voices for the Dragonborn to sound dragon-y, huh. Typical.
And of course new faces are DLC content. Fucking laffo.
I can appreciate a proper autism crusade as much as the next codexer, but why are you so hung up on something that matters so little? I don't understand. Do you need to jack off to an RPG to enjoy it?
ui is already ugly and immersion breaking, faces are even worse. things you see at your screen for many hours are not what i'd call "matters so little"

I tried the game multiple times to see if it improved. It has not. That is why I keep posting here.
Sorry this hurts your feefees.

When the most terminally upset poster in the thread starts typing about feefees you know he has no self awareness, and sometimes you feel like helping him, but of course, he has no ability to actually get a grip.
In the interest of Honest Hate:
Your gotcha doesn't make a lick of sense because if anything, Reddit is the site that bans people for saying mean things about games. You've been here longer than I have, you should be well aware that shitting on things is perfectly normal and acceptable on the Codex.

Secondly, I'm not upset. I don't like the game and I gave reasons why. The same was true of Wrath. I was hoping the game would improve over time but in my eyes it has not, that is all. Take it or leave it.

Which game was the other one?
Wrath of the Righteous. He (rightfully) complained about the game's many flaws and said it was shit, but kept replaying the first chapter over and over.

I find his willingness to give a game he dislikes multiple chances commendable, but at one point one has to learn to give up.

There once was a nerd from the Codex,
Who trolled the forums with shit texts;
They could have ignored him,
But they sort of adored him,
And that's why the fucker can still flex.

I don't usually try to put an explicit message in my poetry but ...

I wish they added more voices. I don't know how it is now, but when I played it I never got a proper indication of magic items being magical. I think I remember the descriptions saying like "could be magical", but that looked more like an empty statement like "sell it to make coin". Long into the game I noticed that you could identify them and got a bit embarassed at my retardation, but all of the stuff I had was worse than the gear I was already rocking.

You're supposed to cast Detect Magic to highlight all magic items in your inventory, and then Identify to learn what they do. It can seem a pointless adherence to the rules, but I'd say a faithful adaptation is generally better than custom house rules, even if it can be clunky at times. The same can be said for stuff like encumbrance, equipment management, and somatic components: they decided to just stick to the ruleset, and I think it adds a lot to the charm of this game.

I really like the somatic component thing. It adds a much needed downside to dual wielding and using a shield compared to using a two-handed weapon or a single weapon.

Most games only give downsides to single-wielding/two-handed compared to the other options.

According to the rules you are supposed to be able to use a shield hand for somatic components. Two-handed weapons are superior to using a shield even without this additional restriction. It's easier to pick up a couple AC from feats than it is to pick up damage.

And that's even without having reach weapons in the game.

???

Somatic (S)

Spellcasting gestures might include a forceful gesticulation or an intricate set of gestures. If a spell requires a somatic component, the caster must have free use of at least one hand to perform these gestures.
Doesn't seem the case. Moreover, what would the point of the War Caster feat be then?

You have practiced casting spells in the midst of combat, learning techniques that grant you the following benefits:

  • You have advantage on Constitution saving throws that you make to maintain your concentration on a spell when you take damage.
  • You can perform the somatic components of spells even when you have weapons or a shield in one or both hands.
  • When a hostile creature's movement provokes an opportunity attack from you, you can use your reaction to cast a spell at the creature, rather than making an opportunity attack. The spell must have a casting time of 1 action and must target only that creature.

And that's even without having reach weapons in the game.
Last time I played, reach weapons were in the game. I had Unfinished Business installed, but I only activated the party size option, so I don't think it was the mod's doing.

I like the idea of somatic components, but I don't like how it works out in game for some classes without the option of taking that warcaster feat (which is non-SRD); paladins become heavily penalized for taking the protection style to shield their comrades, which strikes me as kind of bonkers. And druids have the devil's own time making use of their shield proficiency since they don't get the option to inscribe shields like clerics. Naturally wizards think it's great since they don't use weapons anyway.

TDLR; it's hard to support an even more favorable rules environment for battle clerics and wizards.
