The game is for combat-oriented/loving people. Lighting, vision and options are VERY well implemented. A bit railroaded. The end slightly sub-par, compared to the rest of the game.
Smart move, not calling them combatfags. That would show the SJW agenda inherent in the Codex trying to corrupt the youth of the world into rampant buttfucking and dice chucking. Once it's normalized as a term for playing RPGs it's only one small step into sodomy, THAT'S HOW THEY GET YOU!

The low budget face models are fine. At least vampires on solasta looks like vampire, unlike :
Isn't that guy more like a Renfield? I haven't played BG3 yet since I'm waiting for EA to finish, but I didn't think he was a full vampire. Thought he was illithid-slugged too which shouldn't be possible for vampires.

The current player count is 3.6K on Steam with a 24h peak of 4.5k. kinda surprised the numbers so much lower than other indie CRPGs like Pathfinder which had a peak of 24k. Is the lack of a big license hurting them or just the lacking budget?
Kingmaker didn't have early access (Or at least, one labeled as such) so their peak numbers were probably a bit higher because of that. Kingmaker also pulled in around $900,000 Kickstarterbux, while Solasta did $300,000. Just seems like they had a bit less interest over all, probably because a lot more of it is homebrew while there are a fair few Pathfinder fans out there and (Presumably) some people that were even already fans of the Kingmaker modules. Even with Solasta not doing anything too weird for a setting they're still working uphill because of that, and Kingmaker had Christ Avellone's greasy fingers on it too for more crowd-funding attention. That'd be my guess at least.

Reminder that the sneaky sack of shit who made the post about 'trans people' and is banning people left and right has been roaming around here as a patron and with a super-special tag.

yes, he's a vampire spawn
Interesting. So he is technically undead, he's just a half-assed vampire. I know there are undead/vampiric illithids (Specific name for 'em I forget) but I was pretty sure they came from an illithid turning into a vampire rather than putting a slug in a vampire. Well fuck, now I have to look that up. Casual noodling online suggests they first showed up in Ravenloft, but given I only ever had a single Ravenloft boxed set I'm confident that's not where I read about them. They were apparently in some 3rd edition book but I don't see anything specifying which, so I can't really go pull it off my shelf. They are supposedly hated and feared by other illithids and they basically end up as feral monsters though, so I wouldn't imagine they'd be intentionally making one. So maybe they technically CAN slug a vampire and it's just that since he's a half-assed vampire he didn't look monstrous enough for them to think anything was wrong, and odds are you wouldn't expect a random elf you shanghai'd to be one. Huh.

Pointless for Solasta but I haven't been looking at BG3 much since it's probably still a year or two out but that's mildly interesting.

but believe on me. This is how wizards works on 5e.
But you never played 5e!

No, I rather play retroclones, 2E and 3.X E over a edition where wolves has almost 40 hp and can be hit by a squad of 6 crossbowmans and walk as if is nothing and lv 20 necromancers can't even raise ghouls, only zombies and skeletons. On Solasta, your sleep will not put anything but the weakling of weakling to sleep while a shock arcanist can deal 8d6 damage at level 3 with Scorching Ray, the same damage that a lv 10 caster on kingmaker would dish with the same spell.

Playing only the CPRG adaptations of 5E and reading the spells is more than enough to know that if the spell is not a evocation spell, it sucks.

I had to search for it on GoG. Wouldn't have known it existed if not for Kotex.

I got a Charm to work, tho log said save was at advantage and didn't explain why. Kind of a pain that Pal can't cast with Shield up and Ranger doesn't have Focus?

I'm fine with it:

All in all I think it looks pretty good. When I've had a few too many I look like the Pal, the Wiz looks like my wife and the other two dorks look like my boys (obv no beard yet but at the rate he's going he'll have one by nine).

Characters interact with somewhat realistic expressions.

There's some beauty there. Not quite the bust my wife has but everything else. Nice eyes and good color.

Half orkz are smarter than half elves! Smart enough to replace every other race in character creation.
