I can't remember the last time we've had ban rates like this for a champion across skill levels and queues.

but what about...

OP SHEN?!?!?

Even Shen didn't reach this percentage actually. IIRC he was about 90%. Closest I immediately recall was Rumble during S2 I think.

But if your point is that Shen wasn't problematic for the game, then rage on, brutha. I can't remember more boring games than when him and Eve were popular. Fucking 50 minute games of endless splitpushing and no fighting.

I know what you meant, just meant to say that lol isn't a static environment. As the game changes so does the champion even though no changes were made to them. Defensive Masteries are the reason for Olaf's new rise when his buffs weren't enough, while other factors made Kassadin even better than he was (and he never was out of favor in neither queues nor tournament environs). So yeah.

Seriously, if you don't accept that Kassadin should be nerfed, then no other champion ever should. I can't remember the last time we've had ban rates like this for a champion across skill levels and queues.

I like the fact that LoL isn't a static environment, it keeps it fresh even if it can be frustrating as hell to see old favorites become "sub-par" (don't play the tree, scuba man or pony much these days), either through straight up nerfs, meta shifts or other game changes. I don't think the mastery changes helped nu-Olaf as much as it did other champs, it probably would have been huge for the old Olaf though.

Yeah, Kassadin is an issue. I just hope they don't gut the champ or turn him into something barely recognizable (Karma) while fixing him.

Horsie is still good, seriously. If you get 1 successful gank you snowball so hard it's GG.

Yes, but he is more feast or famine now than he was before. Still love Hecarim though. Need to play him more to justify that outrageous skin, if for no other reason.

I like the new Karma, our mid plays her if Lulu is banned in kindda the same role :P

But yeah, I get what you're saying and I agree.

olaf: They sort of did. Not directly, but the new defensive masteries made it profitable to build a bit more squishy and a bit less HP in lane, and Olaf thrives against champions who don't buy HP. Then if you do lane against someone who buys a Giant's Belt at first back, chances are you'll beat them late-game 'cause you're Olaf. Overall, he's a strong, safe pick right now, though mostly outside tourney-environs. But who gives a fuck about those anyway? ;)

I love new Karma, I've played her a lot in every role except ADC. It's just that she has little in common with the old one. I can see why her (few) fans were pissed.

How about this?

The main reason Kass is ding dong bannu all the time is because of his roaming ability (high mobility and ability to show up from weird directions).

Take Kass as he is now (pre-nerfs).

Boost the damage of his Q and W if need be. Remove the charge restriction on W. (Give W a regular cooldown).
Instead, have x nearby spellcasts give Kass a Rift Charge, up to a max amount. (Flat or scaling with levels/ranks in R).
To riftwalk, Kass needs to expend a Rift Charge. (Think Akali).
Rift Walk no longer costs increasing mana per cast. Rift Walk no longer does increasing damage per cast.

This increases Kassadins ability to trade in Lane (where he is currently weak). It also severely reduces his ability to roam everywhere and show up with absurd rift walk damage. If he rift walks all the way to side lanes, he's going to be out of rift charges to effectively chase.

If you wanted to get fancy, you could move the rift charges into Kassadins Passive and give him a bonus (+armor/+mr) of some sort for every rift charge he retains. I think the mechanic of building up resistences and then dumping them when he goes on the offensive could work.

Not to sound mean or anything but

I think the time away from the game has blurred some of your knowledge. A champion is typically able to roam only if he wins his lane, and Kassadin is extremely good at winning his lane post-6, he outtrades pretty much everyone thanks to his silence and passive. His roams are also very low risk for the same reasons. There's plenty of good roaming champions, Fizz, LB, Ahri, yet none of them are permabanned, hmm why? Pretty much the only thing that holds Kassadin back is mana and it's a problem that's easily fixed once he gets a kill or two. At that stage, he's unleashed and his superior kit just destroys everything in his path.

wat

One of the major parts of Kassadin's problems is his ability to trade profitably with every mid laner in the game due to his combo. Hai described him as nasically the only current top pick without any risk involved in trading plays.

Wow, team builder is useless. Here I thought they were finally doing an MMO-like queuing system so you could pick a role and queue for solo ranked. Nope, instead we get a gimmicky "pre-construct your team" mode where you select a champion (aka incompatible with draft pick) and then a role like "mage" or "tank" (aka useless terms that say nothing about your lane).

Kassadin update:

Yesterday in LCS, it seems a couple of teams might have found a way to break the Riftwalker. For the first time in aeons, he got through the bans two times, and was picked both times. The team that let him through bans then proceeded to 2v1 him in midlane, and in both games he went 1/3 in lane.

Death of the OP Kassadin?

nah, don't worry, both games he ended 8/3 and carried his team to victory :troll: #kassadintotallynotaproblemrite

Have a quote from Alex Ich (who won with Kass yesterday):

"We banned 3 AD Carries. Our strategy was to first pick the fourth, since Copenhagen Wolves usually gives MrRallez a comfortable AD Carry that can just hang back and farm. So yeah, our entire preparation for that match revolved around that plan.

But then Kass was open so we ditched that and picked him instead."

They should increase the bans at 5 per side, even after 10 bans a total of 108 champs is left to play with.
Played 4 games yesterday, lost the first 3 lol, but didnt get demoted for some reason eventho I was 0 points at last 2 losses. Too much whining about supposed OP champs, now Trundle is called OP, Nid is OP, Elise is OP, anything that can burst people and outtank em is OP. Most losses came from people picking champs they're unfamiliar with and bitch how the other champ got a better cheezy skillset and can farm more and kill em at will with supposed free damage. Also pick of the year yesterday, our Caitlyn was to scared to participate in a fight, was nowhere near teamfights and gets kills off alone time and time again. Freezing bot lane at 30 min and staying there while the other team is pushing at inhib towers and taking baron must be play of the year. I got reported for Negative Attitude and Verbal Abuse after the game. No shit. All i said was "have you tried using autoattacks, you stupid bitch" when she traded with their fed Jinx and ulted her in the middle of the trade. Plat level plays madafakas!

So even if I broke out of bronze, I would still have to deal with obnoxious perma-farmers? It's like playing a man down with those guys.

Failed my promos, go figure in bronze tier the only match hyou win in promos is the one where you play literally the entire match 4 v 5. Had to mid as Vi (was looking to jungle) I made a stupid Baron call and we got wiped but the enemy team forgot about winions. Bronze tier man.

Oh well, having Shiv, BT, IE and LW isnt enough sometimes.

As I said before, pick a role or two and 2 champs for each role. Be really good at them and the role you're suppose to play and you'll have little trouble climbing up to Gold atleast.
Even suomi got to platinum winning games pretty much with only Taric and Wukong of all champs.
Skill level isnt that noticable as lack of general things as when to push, gank, who to focus, keep an eye on wards, etc.

Eh, it's all good I'm winning really well with certain champs I fully expect to get to silver tier in a couple months or sooner with good luck. I'm sitting at 6 and 3 with Draven, 6 and 2 with Kha'zix, was doing really well with Vi until recently but I think I just get bad luck games with her (my last game I secured the first couple dragons, got top lane fed hard but it wasn't even close to enough. I find I do better with her when I get a mage that can hit the backline easily, because otherwise my team just focuses tanks. I guess thats why my Kha'zix is decent, I just blow them up myself. Well that and his kit as actually really good, that % health on his Q is not to be underestimated, he duels tanks really well but they always seem to think he's just a regular assassin outclassed by health and armor. Hell, at my level some tanks build straight health and I just start laughing.

So I'm not worried about being in bronze queue. The only frustrating thing is that most of my mids don't understand why they need blue buff or what to do with it and no one really looks to secure dragon. That's actually why I play Vi and Kha'zix, they can solo dragon easily at level 8.
