More content is always good in theory but since my desire to replay this is very low I hope he's also working on another game, hopefully in the same setting.

There was a sword in the catacombs that was a bit more unique, but I didn't even use it because I had a generic weapon that was slightly stronger.
It is a quest item anyway, you can give to the ancient zombie to avoid fight.

Fuck this shit. Why did I buy this game? Why there is always a "post-release content", can't they make completed games? Full-scale add-on or gtfo

Looking at the reception of this game you'd think people should be more critical, yet they liked it regardless and rated it very positive even if the game felt unfinished. And not surprising because only 10% even completed it despite the game being 20-30 hour long. And 17% cleared Horryn,
 according to steam acvievements

But i'd rather have devs at least trying to fix some of the game's shortcomings post release than not. Shows that they still care at least.

Kinda sad Horryn doesn't have more content, because aftermath Horryn had potential for more interesting quests. For example new captain of the guard suspected some of the surviving reavers had blended in with the townfolk

If the dev plans to patch in more content, I assume the catacombs are high on the priority list

The monster baby might be expanded upon in a future content update: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1069160/discussions/0/4336483106370688591/

Enhanced Edition ?

Embrace the backlog. Try not to play a game for a least a year after it is fully (no early access) released. It's typically patched up, feature complete, and heavily discounted. Reviews and wikis tend to also be established. There is every incentive to wait. There are so many games out since 2010 that finding good games to occupy yourself in the meantime is not a problem. The only hazard is that you must be disciplined to avoid spoilering yourself.

Wise words. I will be repeating them as my litaniae.

Was going to buy this to play this weekend but if the dev is still adding content to the game I'll just wait.

I rarely buy games at release now, but I'm glad I did with Skald before they started editing it.

There was a line Kat delivered along the lines of "....so I gutted the cunt" and it really hit the spot, so when they changed "cunt" to "bastard" it felt lame.

If the dev has added and tweaked more shit like that he's just done a George Lucas and wankified it

I forgot this was a Kickstarter game and I was supposed to hold off on playing these games 1-2 years after release to get the final version.

There are so many times these games add new areas, quests, characters and that. I was tired of playing 80% of a game.

Yeah, due to the hype the game creates about Horryn, you expect to spend there half of the game. And then ut actually passes in 3/4 hours.
Then, I repeat myself, we're debating and criticising this game for several things that could have been better but, still, it's really good.

Honestly, since he has already released the Editor and advertising the custom campaigns, i don't think he will add more, despite the cut content or whatever.
The game has a soul also as it is and I hope the guy(s) is already enjoying his profits (if any) and woorking on the next game.

Yes, there's no sign atm that the dev is actually working on new content. Just play it, it's a short game.

Looks kinda cool. Is it functional right out of the box?

There are remasters of the first two parts on steam, should be the same games just with more stuff and playable in higher res. I just started playing remaster of the second game myself.

I loved this game. Can somebody recommend me some other game I could like?
If you like Geneforge, check out Avernum: Escape from the Pit or even Exile: Escape From The Pit. Both from the same dude, both excellent, both a different spin on the same great journey. which one you prefer is just down to personal tastes really, Avernum is more simplified and polished, Exile has a bit more depth and is old-school.

I love good pixel graphics but pushing the nostalgia as far as using a shitty color palette is a sign of retardation.
And going for shitty "vintage" metroid music to get along with the fugly graphics is the last staw.

How retarded do you have to be make that king of garbage.

Game devs from the previous century only released games this ugly because they had no choice and improved the graphics up to some standards which were reached in the 90's.
So, releasing a game with a color palette which can hurt someone sight is really beyond my comprehension.

This and actually buying/playing the game.

Exile 3 is great, and free, you just have to get it working (the first Exile is a bit empty, though Exile 2 and Blades of Exile are both pretty good).
