Hah, Alliance for Allah. Sounds like something /pol/ would think up.

Enjoying this so far, despite it releasing on my job's weekend support week for me.

It's a little unseemly how much combat I've avoided; fucking Gang etiquette. I'm impressed, but I kind of want to blow shit up.

Getting a lot of annoying bullshit where reloading doesn't seem to actually reset variables properly. I keep getting the same convo with Gin and co every time I go to talk to them and now I can't tell Maximum Law about the serial killer mission. I really like the content HBS produces but fuck they need to iron out these technical issues. No, actually, most of this is shit should have been fixed a long time ago. Especially infinitely retarded bullshit like it being so fucking hard to make party members move behind anything you can click.

Played for a few hours, made a dwarven close combat cyber samurai. Like it sofar, but will wait for a few updates/bug fixes before really continuing.

The game has been as good as Dragonfall DC so far, I'm like 5 missions in. I only wish they actually gave some feedback upon clicking a hotspot.

Anyone trying a Decker/Rigger mix? Any experiences? Bred gud, not so gud? Are there many uses for hacking and decking checks?

Tons but one the companion you get is a decker and she's a bit crazy good with special abilities, crazy grenade/mine launcher, constant free deck and ability upgrades and whatnot.
Rigger is really good though I found. Ran a 3 riggers (me, 1 companion, 1 hired) 1 decker (companion) crew for a bit, wrecked shit up good. Not many "vent" gimmick that I noticed, though didn't pay much attention.

I'm disappointed how HBS once again uploaded a low-quality digital artbook.

I'm glad I got physical goods for SRR because that art book is gorgeous. Stop skimping on the megabytes, Lamebrained.

Anyone use the magnetic arm cyber that throws grenade back? It seemed insanely powerful until I realized it says:"When it targets the user". Can grenades hit you when your guys are bunched up together if it targets someone else?

I can't confirm this, haven't properly tested it. But every single time a grenade has been thrown near a runner with that cyber arm it has been thrown back. So either that runner is constantly being targeted, even in groups, or the arm has a small AOE radius for its ability. It's pretty fucking handy though.

There is a decker and a rigger party member and they're both good, especially the rigger. You can use more than one rigger of course but there's hardly any reason for another decker unless you just really don't like the one available.

Just finished it. In 17.9 hours according to steam.

Don't know what to feel about the ending, things seem pretty bleak and you don't feel like you've done much difference despite what you accomplish and i guess it's a good thing.
The game doesn't fail in reminding how fucked up our world is (going to be, minus the meta-humans and magic).

Have to say it is a really good game, characters are well-written and the plot is relatively original.
It takes you for a ride and never stops being fun until a certain story mission where you HAVE TO plug is0bel(or your pc if you chose to play as a decker for some reason) into matrix for quite some time. It picks up the pace and becomes fun again after that so not a huge problem i guess.

No real complaints other than that, but the UI still kinda makes it feel like a tablet game.

Money is the limiting factor on everything as far as I can tell. The game also tries to encourage you along so you skip some of the side missions to save them for another playthrough, too, and the personal missions for the followers don't seem to pay money, so there's just never enough.

I think decking on the PC would probably feel like it just costs too much cash when Isobel can easily dunk all the cybershit in the runs for free. Although on the other hand a PC decker can probably get by with bare minimal investment if you only want to be around Isobel's level instead of going all out to be king shit decker. Rigging is also probably super expensive and the companion rigger gets super perks and a super drone that are unavailable to you so why bother. In Dragonfall I tried the rigger/decker thing and gave up on decking pretty early to just let Blitz do it, and there was way more money in DF.

Interesting. How long did it take you to complete the previous games?

It took me 30 hours to complete Shadowrun Returns + original Dragonfall DLC, and 15 hours to complete Dragonfall Director's Cut.

I'm expecting 15 hours again for this - I'm already at 9 hours and I don't think I've finished act 1, at least I hope I haven't because I haven't done much main story stuff, just a lot of runs. It would be great if I could get closer to 20 hours out of this.

What? The music is awesome!
Nope. Ten steps behind DMS/Dragonfall soundtrack. It's even worse than PoE music, which at least had decent battle themes.

Because of that music, my perception of the S:HK is so bad.

:hmmm:

Wow, just wow. Is it because you don't like the Chinese theme? Personally, I love it for the same reason I like the Jade Empire and World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria soundtracks. Very relaxing.

I don't tend to listen to the battle music because during those moments I'm concentrating much more on what is happening on screen. I only remember battle music if it is really repetitive and abrasive, like the battle music in Gothic 3.

Well, I just wanted to try something different this time, since the last two SR games I already played a Streetsam. But I guess I will just roll another one if Isobel and Racter are that good. Currently playing the Antumbra module for DF with a Decker/Rigger just to try out the build.

The music is nice, but it really isn't as good as the DMS or Dragonfall soundtrack IMO. One battle music track is very good (the first one you hear in the game)... the rest not so much.

38 hours of playtime total on returns + Dragonfall as DLC, i may have played a few UGC's though.

You should get close to 20 hours if you do everything
I think there is content related to the russian guy below deck but i never really talked to him, and there is another quest i didn't do, which bao will apparently give you towards late game, i only noticed it during the epilogue

I've been talking to Russian bottom boat guy (Racter). He alludes to having teamed up with Dietrich ("a band of anarchists") during his time in Berlin.

And if I don't like most of PoE tracks, does that mean I don't like fantasy theme? Nope, I just don't like that lazy ambient thing without any melodic line. Those in S:HK are especially irritating mix of sounds.

He was talking about Lucky Strike team. In Dragonfall she also mentioned Racter in her party.

The wording might be different, I played around with it and it seems that if a nade will hit the char that has it the nade will be thrown back. I even got a miss with the throw so I'm pretty certain that if the nade would hit the guy it doesn't matter who it targeted. Pretty fucking awesome. Makes finding cover much easier since you are no longer afraid of the grenade diarrhea that having your chars near each other causes.
