I like buying my RPG games the good old fashioned way: Taking some money out of the ATM machine and buying them physically.

I´d like to create a new thread talking abot these games because there are so much dark old style RPGs that are absolutelly amazing.

Which old style RPG games do you usually play? I´d like to try some of them.

Start with the two BUck Rogers.

Meh. Combat is somewhat fluid but has some weird decisions (you're hit when you touch an opponent, which is a bad decision unless you make a game like Volgarr). Also I found the shop management too tedious for my taste.

First, it took me 5 minutes to manage to get rid of the WASD curse, then you start in a dungeon with a broom, ok, another game designed by a hipster, karate kid's fan ...
5 minutes later, my first chest, couldn't figure out how to loot it, i was about to summon a brainstorming but i decided it wasn't worth my time.
Controls are clumsy, even after you personalized them, it was designed to play with a game controller.

Abandonia has em. I dunno anything about dosbox to get it working.

You can find the Sega ROM around of Doomdays as a good introduction since it's simplified (eg. No ammo for guns).
