You think people who ignored the first news post will vote if you write another one?

I don't think there's any point in making another news post, but — since there was a delay in making this poll official — it wouldn't hurt to extend the voting time by another week so it's more likely that we get at least as many votes for this poll as we did for 2019 one, where the voting got up to 17 pages before closing.

I have a question about rpg-ness of Pathologic games. Never played them (yet) do they have any character development or advancement systems?

I've always seen them marketed as fpp adventure games with survival mechanisms.

i wouldn't call them RPGs to be honest. I just noticed how the other posters have voted for them, and thought 'why not'.

They have zero rpg mechanics only survival mechanics and inventory management. They are pretty hardcore, I doubt you would like them.

Can talk about the RPG mechanics or lack thereof but it's futile. If you like unique, amazing atmosphere it's worth a try simply based on that.

And if some shit thats already on top 50 of the previous vote counts as an RPG, Pathologic being in hidden gems list isn't an aberration

And why would you doubt it? I heard some good things about them.
You seem to dislike most Russian things, and pathologic is super Russian. Stylistically, and design wise. Also the game(s) are interesting but not necessarily that fun to play. I have not seen your opinion on games outside of RPGs. Pathologic is very tedious, and very hard(at least imo). It's best to be purely enjoyed for the Russian depressing atmosphere and tone.

He was only able to play them because somebody gifted them to him. He's a pan handler. Ignore the douche.

This is correct, when I was a kid my dad purchased Pathologic 1 for us. So I in fact did not pay for it.

I don't have any problem doing that.

Wait, this is official voting thread now? I thought it was one of these "I made a voting thread, lol!" people do for laughs so I pretty much ignored it.

Instead of listing top RPGs which I have most sympathy for and which obviously will top the ranking (FO1&2, PS:T, etc...) I will bump few other ones that I had most fun with in last decade or two. Those I replayed at least once or plan to in foreseeable future.

In completely random order:

Fallout: New Vegas
Baldurs Gate 3
Witcher 3

Edited:
Fallout 1
Fallout 2
Planescape Torment
Bloodlines
Baldurs Gate 2
KOTOR 2
NWN 2 Mask of Betrayer

Hidden Gems:
Titan Outpost
Hades
Kenshi
ATOM
Solasta
Dark Sun
Age of Decadence
Underrail
Might & Magic VII
Yakuza 7

Edit

Im a weak man and as Beans00 pointed out Codex, which is in decline since 2002 hates story fags, Im updating the list with story fag galore.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution :incline:

Final Fantasy VII (same thing)

younger me:
- BG1/IWD
- PS:T
- Fallout 1/2
- Diablo 1
- Divine Divinity
- Gothic 1/2
- TOEE

i know these are cliché classics but in the late 90s I discovered pc rpgs with fallout and later bg1 and was blown away. but was also to young to appreciate the early 90s games - i tried them, they just didn't click with me

medium me stayed away from RPGs (also from games in general), but there also weren't many out there in the mid-late 00s, so...
- Dragon Age Origins
- Witcher 1

Older me:
- Geneforge series (finished Mutagen, next week going for Infestation)
- KOTC1/2
- Dungeons of Naheulbeuk
- Shadowrun Dragonfall
- Underrail

Codex 2012 PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire RPG Wokedex Serpent in the Staglands Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 BattleTech Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
Hidden Gems:

The Lord of the Rings - Vol 1

Worlds of Ultima: The Savage Empire
I almost put these two as well. I loved playing Savage and it would have been my #11 pick. LotR, though quite simple, was... well, fun. Hard to explain it but after getting away from Hobbiton I really started to enjoy it. Good choices :salute:
