Original image is 640 x 480 so it's a bit larger than this picture shows

That's neat! I heard Alicesoft didn't want to sell their games on western shores, but that appears to be changing.

Although, what about the other Rance games?

I fully approve of this development.

In fact, it should be a Codexian citizens duty to buy at least seven copies. Do your duty, good citizens!

Well Rance VI at least is a really good jrpg in its own right.

But more seriously

Disgusting. Rance would never lower himself to shitty Helman.

When it is done. I wouldn't be surprised by delays - those are the most complicated games MG has released so far, after all.

The important question is who will do the front page Codex review for VI?

"Insider" info says December is pretty likely.

As for the other Rance games - obviously it depends on the sales of 6 but the plan is to go chronologically forward from then on. Very likely to be 8 but they might decide to retranslate Sengoku.

I guess they will use what they had already translated like a year ago, so no surprises on the release date.
I'm expecting Rance Quest Magnum next, I heard Maria was working on it.

Seems like the jewening of the Mangagamer deal won't be a total disaster after all. What a glorious day.

Will be the first porn game I buy (obvious LP too).

for starters... this little early game stuff:
if i make hara surrender, tragic ends for both of em
if i beat em straight up, i get to keep the guy as ingame prisoner and the wife as slave

you're not joking when you say best c&c Cyberarmy

never make anyone surrender (vassalization), always conquer.

Some tips:
  • Making vassals is only useful to achieve certain character clears (useless on first play-through)
  • Ignore endgame points on first play-through
  • Try to not fully conquer certain factions to quickly. Some factions have gourds, which will break after conquest (press F5 to see who), it acts as the ITZ timer (you need to be strong both in army and character levels by then)
  • My recommended satisfaction bonus with Rance are: Action fans>Rance Attack> Reinforcements (try to pick the 6 reinforcements before ITZ).
  • There are some recruitable characters that are very useful but missable: Kenshin (conquer the Ueshugi not too slowly, she has some insane skill that lowers enemy action points), Uruza (2nd Zeth reinforcement, has another anti-AP skill), Natori (Leader of the Mikos, has a loading skill that kills 30% of troops of all enemy units, very useful in later stages). There are plenty of others.
  • When you capture generic enemy commanders you don't need free them 5 at a time to get a level up item for Rance. (Only 5 at a time).
  • Clearing dungeons level-ups everyone, don't focus on clearing dungeons until you have a good number of powerful commanders (strong ones in dungeon battles). But don't wait to clear the first ones since you get H-events that boost satisfaction.
  • Some important Boss battles (dungeon battles) can only be won as long as Rance (or a certain other character) takes part in the battle, so make sure they have a decent level. Also, there is a quite useful side-character that will choose to chill out by the endgame and will become unavailable, there is nothing you can do about it.
