Point buy is more likely to be less fun then dice roll

It would be nice if it was added in future or currently in dev CRPG like Realms beyond, KotC 2, next Vigilante dev's cRPG ...
Well, for the kind of Flaw system you're describing, there's gonna be The Outer Worlds lol. But somehow I expect the Flaws in this game to be so non-punishing that they'll be nothing but bonus Perks. We'll see.

If the question of which is more fun wouldn't that be fairly based on the person playing the game? I've seen different groups do different things and fun never seemed to be out of the question when it came to character creation despite some people doing rolls per stat so you can't reallocate them and then choosing their class, I've seen seen people do rolls but allowed to move them around the stats, and I've seen pointbuy. They all worked. I will say that I think pointbuy is more noob friendly because newer players are usually hellbent on playing a specific class and race and anything else would disappoint. Older players seem to be okay with randomized stats and not knowing what they'll be playing in the game yet because they've done it all already and pointbuy would be boring as shit. Having random high and low stats would give them new challenges that pointbuy would discourage. Why would you hurt your own stats if you have complete control of them?

Random char, race and stats, but you won't see your character until after killing 100 rats and doing a couple of fedex quests. No, you can't customise your face.

I think one of the best way random stat starts are shown is in battle brothers where attributes are randomized within certain range.

This randomization of stats can effectively give unique personalities to each recruit. It is not far fetched to assume such a system will work organically in a crpg setting as well and create differing playstyles.

Which would be fun

Well, the game wasn't on my radar so i knew it wasn't for me but i checked anyway.

Solo/ first person/ Obsidian ... That's a lot of crap already for a single game, also, checked the trailer, seems like they're aiming at the Guardian of the galaxy (the movie) audience, another piece of crap to swallow.

Without indie devs, i'd never play another cRPG again.
