Please, suggest me a great recent single player game for pc to buy.

So, i've just finished Resident Evil 7 and it is pretty good, even if it has some issues. The second part of the game is kinda bad and the basic enemies have no variety.

However, i wanted some more horror so i tried EW2 demo...i was afraid because user reviews destroyed it and everyone saying RE7 is better but...i'm really having a blast with this game.

Demo ends on chapter 3 so i hope the game doesn't fall later like Re7 did.

EW2 is fucking solid. EW1 was too. Solid survival horror.

Does the game get worse after chapter 3 (demo)? Because this may be the reason for me to buy it or not.

Re7 second part was way worse then first half.

Btw only 3 chapter and i've already seen a nice variety of disturbing monsters, also audio is awesome.

Monsters effects are terryfing...also they remind me a lot silent hill 1 and 2

EW2 is solid all the way through -

There is fantastic environmental variety, and the story stays great throughout.

There was only one character\section of the whole game that had my eyes rolling, but other than that I loved the entire experience.

Keep going....

Also i was looking for Evil within 2 or Wolfenstein 2 but very mixed reviews.

Out of those two only EW2 is worth playing as it's actually a game and not a crappy movie. I'm playing through it now on Nightmare difficulty and it's pretty enjoyable. I'm constantly low on resources and being forced to sneak around a lot. Avoiding most tougher enemies that I can in order to save ammo. It works better for me than first game. You can ignore claims it's "open world", it's really not. It has a few small hubs with optional stuff you can explore but it's far from being open world.

I mean, while I'm at it I might as well list SP games I personally enjoyed as of late:

1.) Prey
2.) Elex
3.) Resident Evil 7
4.) KCD
5.) Evil Within 2
6.) Deus Ex: MD

I'm not saying I am the keeper of standards, but each of the above games was well worth the time IMO, even if they have their flaws like all games do.

I is one of better FPS games and really fucking fun to play. You play as indian guy kidnapped by aliens along with friends ready to be made into food.

The original Prey was pretty bland and repetitive. Very much a mid-2000s first person shooter. For some reason (well, the rise of HD graphics and mass commercialisation) they were all like that - not terrible just often too realism-centric or simplistic gameplay-wise for their own good. The Prey reboot was 8/10 if being generous. Pass on both unless you are specifically into games of that type, because otherwise there are plenty better options.

for me it's gotten to a point where I mostly just play old games now. I tire of hordes of trash or at best "gud for what it is and highly derivative". And every innovation takes us further and further from actual gaming. "Assassins Creed has history tour mode!" cool, but how about fixing the default mode first and actually make it good before you add more non-game elements?

Just finished Evil within 2 , that was a very enjoyable single player experience. It was very similar to Dead Space 2 (which i also liked).

Now i guess i'll try Prey. Is Prey storyline good?

If it isn't obvious from the trillions of PREY IS AWESOME posts in this thread. The answer is yes.

I am playing Prey, i arrived to Psycotronics...i feel shame to say that..i am bored. I just can't find this game fun, dunno why.
At the first i thought it can be cause lack of pacing, but then i remember i loved Alien isolation that is a really slow-paced game.

feelsbad
