Now THIS looks like a winner. Let's hope the variety, intricacy of character progression, and replayability holds up. Real time with pause is NOT a major offense provided the rest holds up. Hence PS:T.

I'm a bit surprised at this sudden outpouring of praise. I mean, all of this game's screenshots look great, not just these new ones.

I don't remember there ever being much negativity about the visual quality itself (pretty rooms are pretty), only about impossibly shaped ruins/arches, an oddly pristine dragon skeleton, a severe lack of trees at supposedly long abandoned sites in the (somewhat) woody wilderness, an abundance of trees right next to your stronghold's walls and an extremely oversized bonfire.

And I'm pretty sure people were just poking it because someone is hilariously trying to defend it with reasoning like...what was it? Magical algae?

I have to say, I have not been this excited for a game in a long, long time. I can't even remember how long. Maybe Warcraft 2 back when I was a stupid teenager? Or maybe Stonekeep back when I was an even stupider pre-teenager?

Gorgeous. I'm really happy with the semi-historical look of that plate armour. Now let's hope for a Riefelharnisch and some Landsknecht gear.

And maybe some Zweihänders-wielding Doppelsöldner, Schwarze Reiter, and Schattenjäger.

Round rooms are very IE though. BG2 had A LOT of them.

I understand. But there just aren't that many round rooms elsewhere in fantasy games, stories, movies, other literature. They get a little passé, no?

If there aren't that many, then how exactly do they become "passé?"

the problem is that they make a warrior's HALL as a round room. dunno, but halls are definitely not round in my experience.
