My Tekehu was a druid/chanter multi - he couldnt even do one of the 2 things that make those classes really cool: summoning... Early game at least he was good for foe-only chill fog, later for just DoT heal

Teheku as a single-class druid is the strongest companion. His unique watershaper subclass is awesome.

I'm shocked noone mentioned that the Vaporous Grimoire became a true unique item (gold background), well done 'Dex item creators :)
On a sidenote that grimoire was hands down the best in the game cause it gives 50% more resources for casters, which is ridiculous, rest of the grimoires are all shit compared to that.

It sure is very potent, but also comes with a serious downside (which can be managed, but not entirely easily). Every damage you sustain with that Grimoire will cause an Interrupt.

Dark Xoti as a pure Priest or Maia as a Scout is the strongest. Dark Xoti gets a Religion-scaling damage buff for the whole party that can go up well into 20+ percent + the insane buff/damage stuff she gets at level 16 as a pure Priest. Scout Maia, on the other hand, with the right equipment and party comp to enable her to do Sneak Attacks with Dragon's Dowry deals absurdly high levels of single-target damage, nobody else comes even close. High-value targets will just drop in seconds.

Pretty sure Xoti's lantern got the Sawyer treatment in the 1.1 patch, I don't think it goes above 5% now.

What numbers did you get out of Maia?

My un-optimised PC did like 200-300 per shot on one target with the (now Sawyered) Frost Bow, so I curious what a tuned character does. 500 per shot? 1k?

Oh fuck sake, you're right, I only played Dark Xoti on the pre-1.1. I assumed the Spell Resistance you get with Light Xoti is deliberately scaled back compared to the damage buff, but I see it all got hit with the Sawyer Stick.

What numbers did you get out of Maia?

Depends on the number of debuffs the enemy NPC had on it (Deathblows, ITT), its remaining health, the number of buffs Maia had on her, the active abilities used etc. I don't recall the exact numbers, but squishier targets (anything that isn't a Fighter and/or a Paladin, for example) would drop from 60-70% HP to 0 in one shot with Devastating Blow.

I voted for wand too, but seems there more people for morningstar for some reason. Wtf, there already 2 morningstar why people vote for more. There only one fucking wand, common.

Why would they even ask?! - just count how many uniques/soulbounds there are for each weapon type and make more of anything that’s already getting the short end of the stick...

I'd be shocked if they weren't already doing that (JES said they were) for introduction in later DLC. This whole poll thing is to try and promote community involvement and keep people interested/excited.

Pikes are good in concept . They can strike from behind party members, and their modal lowers enemy deflection by 10.

Because wands are lame and a huge freaking spike ball is awesome?

Besides, I'm sure you'll get more wands in the DLCs.

Pollaxe has the most universal damage type combo in the game that most enemies would be vulnerable to. Sadly going for anything but 2 weapons is suboptimal. And no extra 1 pen wouldn't change it. And since it's 2 types of damage it also suffers damage penalty on top of it - carrying staff + pike would be more viable.

I don't think it's necessary to make every possible thing a point-buy dump. I think it's much better for a Wizardry Fighter to be expert in all Martial weaponry as part of its Class Kit than it is to make the player spend 1 point on Longsword every Level to achieve the same
What if it gives you control how you want your character's build to end though? I liked that in Wiz8 you can put points into swords and critical strike, or magic and allow character to grow other skills by themselves, or sword and 1 Realm (say only Water), or put 2/2/2 in STR/DEX/INT for a long developing, pure hybrid, or DEX/SPD for %death weapons specialist, or STR/DEX for pure damage output specialist.

It's interesting though that in some RPGs you don't really care for options in character development, because if there is enough strategy in combat itself, it can replace it and take your attention away from it.

I always forget, which one is the one that doesn't have reach? Pollaxe? Completely useless.
There's an awesome soulbound Pollaxe that deals Slash/Shock and you can get it right after Port Maje. Max it out before reaching Neketaka. It's capable of aoe damage on a Barbarian.
Plus another unique Pollaxe available early with an awesome aoe attack effect, currently bugged to be crazy OP.

There might not be many of them, but there are actually pretty awesome ones.

Tough fight last night with Famps in some cave. Ancient famps. They killed my entire party without any of them dying however my main fighter survived. He was the last man standing and they charmed him and so all the famps walked off screen. Thanks to my ring of regeneration I was back to full health in 20 minutes. I then pulled them out of the fog one by one sometimes two until they were all dead.

Famps are very difficult even at level 16 playing on classic difficulty. It’s not even so much the charm and domination. It’s because they can very quickly run though your front lines and make it for your wizards and squishy companions. Disappear then reappear it’s horrible. They are hard to hit and deal lots of damage.

I found most of those only useful in fully realised builds on highest levels where you already overwhelm enemy with accuracy. On low/mid level PoTD they actually don't do anything fancy. Like Mohai Poranga trick which requires Heart of Fury to fully work. That's ability you get during endgame (with xp cut mod, that is). And at that point, everything goes - your level and quality of weapons simply breaks enemies. Uniques break enemies in a slightly more awesome way.
