I had a fight with Astraldeamon yesterday in
in Vordekai's tomb.
I felt so smart when I cast
Death ward to stop his energy draining abilities only to have him dispel it immediately with a touch or something :D
I am running out of Diamond Dust in this place. Bringing only 40 dust was not enough it seems :)

I beat him in 3rd try when I decided to
stop tanking with my cleric so he can be alive and not drained so he can raise dead and restore my Dwarf two-handed fighter afterwards :D

It was surprising fight because how easy most enemies on this levels were. Had to reload a few times and try different shit.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Regarding the Unity video card heating issue: I serviced my video card: AMD 5870. All dust removed, thermal paste renewed, and installed a liquid cooler as well as an extra fan directed at the heat sink. Reduced idle temps from 35 degrees celcius to 25. The game runs it to about 40-50 and then as soon as I open a menu or the map it jumps another 10 to 15 higher. This is with cold ambient temps. With the higher temperatures after prolonged use.
It's better than the billowing plane engine sounds I had before though.

As much as I love this game, I'm starting to wonder if the Unity engine is fit for purpose.

Does the Brazen Thief event come from Nok Nok's sidequest? Nothing like a -500bp event that brings your entire kingdom from stable to crumbling in a split second.

Heh, I too discovered never ever to let my BPs go negative. I was literally at -1 BP for one minute it took me to run outside and buy more and it was enough to bring my stability down. Ugh.

This is me at level 5: "Right I'm gonna scout around my lands as a ranger and put my nature lore to use - grab some XP and use up some time to get the first few projects done".

So I choose fight instead of flee when Ranger succeeds at nature check, and get charged by a primal manticore as soon as battle begins. Then use up a crap tonne of resources defeating an elder water elemental on the next random encounter.

I suppose there wouldn't be any fun in it if you actually knew what you were up against when your ranger spots the enemies right?.

Random encounters can be pretty retarded. I had 2 bloody beasts or how they are called at level 3. Literaly survived 10 secs.
Also, attacked while sleeping by soul eaters at liv4.

The chapter 6 final area is retarded. I loved the game until that point but the balance is off. Bugs and imbalanced opponents.
A wild hunt monarch and 10 guards ambushing you, half of them being archers. And another greater dispel to remove freedom of movement. And unlike the arcane curse fight, this one is well protected. And this stun/blind/fear combo every round is just not fun

I would like some information about what enemies you are about to face as well. If you spot them AND get the chance to avoid them, you surely know what it is you just spotted, right?
Sometimes I don't want to fight 3 Kobolds since loading screens take more time than the fight, sometimes I don't want to be insta-gibbed by monsters that are just too powerful for my party (esp. unprepared).

So how did you deal with it?

How interesting, on Steam I now have to agree to EULA form to play.

Just because I don't know why I decided to read it.

I love all the negative reviews on Steam, especially the ones with 100 or 200+ hours played. That's a long time to play something you don't like.

It is a hard fight,i found it harder than the boss.

As I already said.... Astradaemon are ultra easy to permastun with chains of light.
Killed at first try without buffing.

On higher difficulties they have better saves though coz stats bloating.

It had 27 SR and my lvl 11 caster has +15 to break it. Still need 12 or more to break it. It is not such a sure way to kill it. I did it on first try without it but lost a cleric. Didn't feel like raising it and fucking about with resting to recover lost levels so I reloaded.

Not sure if this is intended, but when I left Pithax after killing Irovetti, the Pithax influence quest automatically failed (-30 to all stats) - don't remember if it was assigned or not, but it was not the 1st of the next month anyway, great

As a Chaotic Evil Sorcerer I fully endorse using the altar to them instead. Not only do you not need to fight them, but you get a stat bonus for doing so as well.
