It seems that you'll have the ability to 'reform' Regognar into chaotic neutral from chaotic evil. Guess adventuring is the best psychiatric/social help available in this fantasy world.

So? It's nothing new, I think in BG you could change companions' alignments.

Well, it just reeks of how some alignments are perceived to be more desirable than others. Some random murder hobo changes the nature of a man who has been shaped into a wild animal with all his numerous experiences--all by merely gracing him with their company! Sure!

I guess it just displeases me that alignments are sometimes treated as something fluid and not the core or fundament of a person.

But alignments are suppose to be something fluid, isn't it? People change, it just depends on how the writers handle it.

Alignments are determined by the actions of a person. Alignments do not determine the actions of a person. It has always been like this, and playing it any other way is retarded.

Or maybe an alignment is the abstract representation of a person's inclinations, and it doesn't exist in the realm of the person or their actions hence it can't influence or be influenced, only discovered by analyzing how a person acts in the world. Alignments decribe how a person is likely to act, not their karmic pool of all decisions. Hence changing alignment is representative of a change in nature, which is unlikely.

Alignment shifts are stupid and just gorgnardy in their misunderstanding how people are wired and shaped. It's like climate 'changing' just because it rained two times in a row. Sure; the median is still the same, though.

Definitely not related to SSD. Super slow load times for me with SSD. 1 core occupied. I'm alt-tabbing then like crazy. At some point it starts.

I have no idea how people can watch streamers play these sort of games. A huge part of the fun for me is being able to go into that character creator and look at all the options at my own leisurely pace.

Anyways, downloading right now. I'll post my impressions in 2 days when it finishes installing because I have the internet speed of a hermit living out in the swamp.

This is ridiculous. At what age does your alignment become set in stone? Chaotic juvenile delinquent is forced to join the army, where he’s inculculated with a deep sense of discipline and a respect for law and order. He obeys rules religiously, makes his bed every day, and thinks back on his misspent youth with amusement. That kind of alignment change happens constantly.

I also did not receive anything by mail, but the game simply appeared in my backer account that I opened earlier today. If you also have an account, maybe it's there as well? Or maybe they made one for you under your e-mail address?

I checked out the gods available in the Golarion setting, and, well...

Calistria: An elven goddess, Calistria's temples often double as centers of intrigue and brothels. Feeding into people's lust and also feeding people's anxieties until they seek revenge, she is seen often as a bit of an odd one. Her favored animal is the hornet since they can sting repeatedly. Seriously, if you piss her off she will show her disdain for you by having hornets sting your junk until it's black and blistered. She is Chaotic Neutral to the extreme, in fact she is so whimsical and unreliable that she is the only non-chaotic evil deity that even Asmodeus refuses to work with.

Lol. I backed this as backer 266 but after I deleted my Facebook account, I can no longer get my key from their backer portal. Who the hell ties that to your FB account? I mean, I have a regular log in and password, but they key will only show up if I log in with my deleted Facebook account, which means I can't get my key. Wtf, what kind of genius builds their backer portal like that?

The key word here is 'forced'. Anyone can be forced to do whatever, the question is what they'd choose on their free (heh) will. If he continues to uphold the learned discipline after the army, it says one thing about the person (lawful in dnd terms). If he rebels and becomes a delinquent again, it's another thing entirely (a chaotic person bent to do against his nature). In your example, it's a clear example of an unrefined lafwul character.

It's mostly chemistry and biology, socio-cultural experiences just shape the meat puppet into the more defined versions of what they are determined by their bodies to be. Obeying or rebelling are two equally natural responses by two differently wired humans.
As I've said, good-evil shifts may be somewhat plausible, but turning from lawful to chaotic (not in the shallow ways as in 'the sarge kicks my ass if I don't make my bunk') is just pure fantasy.

Infinitron If i do not log in to their backer portal with my Facebook account, I can't claim my key. Not even if I log in with my email and password. I was told by their twitter account handler. He said he would notify their support like a week ago. Two mails later and they still haven't contacted me. I'm not really that upset if I don't get to play it today or this week, but it seems kinda shitty.
