Aint no party like a lizard party
Buy the formal costume pack and your Lizrrrrd can wear a tuxedo. Add some sunglasses during the summer mandogrind: best party deal. :obviously:

FYI: there is no account reward for doing the new missions with the gamma rectum. Decline. That guy is only good for assjobs and unlocking his boat through mastery.

What I meant was: you don't have to bother PLAYING your JH toon if you are only in it for the acc rewards.

You get a reward for him becoming lvl 65.
You get an extra ass slut for him maxing the assjobs.
etc

But you get no acc reward, nuzzink, for actually playing the story. Which is basically just a requirement to get access to all the other missions (and get access to the derpa quadrant). So, unless you want to harrass Gayzons in Arrrrrgala to level his boat, you can just park him somewhere and just do assjobs until you get the extra slut. Or let him run against a wall for 20 hours.

Pretty shitty recruiment event. Derpa was far better to get metrics and Temp was worth it for the rewards.:decline:

"do 100 PvE queues"... :hahano:

So after a bit of googling and conferring with Blaine, you mean these dudes you get from this gamma recruits event thing, and doing admiralty whatever jobs with them gets you an extra assignment slot eventually (and some ship?), and those apply to all characters on your account, but is otherwise mostly useless. Is that about right?

Pretty much, yeah.

Well, it's not really a concern for new players, us "veterans" measure everything new by "how do our existing chars profit from it". During the other recruitment events there were a lot of and easily achievable account rewards. Claimable by EVERY of your other chars. That added up quiet a bit if you have 10+ additional pylons. Loads of dilithium, marks (that turned into dilithium too), upgraded traits. One temporal recruitment reward even upgrades every reputation equipment bought in the future to MK13 UR for free.
And they were easy to get, pretty much just by playing all the missions with a new toon again. Who also got extra rewards after each mission.

This time, your other toons don't get that much. Only thing of note one extra slot for the admirality cardgame. The upgraded traits are from the niu specs none of my toons even bothered with. And the other stuff requires... too much effort. Donating x fleet marks is tricky with our already filled fleet. 100 PvE queues... no thanks.
On top of that the JH toon even has to be played for 20 hours before HE can claim the rewards, or even some of the ones he unlocked are available to the rest of your toons. 20 hours. Basically they expect us to replay every mission with a JH again, but don't pay us for it this time.
I think my main klang doesn't even have 20 hours of playtime in total.

And by unlocking the ship I meant the JH boat from the vanguard pack. Leveling it's ship mastery (through space battles) eventually unlocks the ship to be claimed by every other of your chars too. Free admirality card. A meh one tho. So not even that is worth it.

TLDR: Gamma recruitment is shit. ("Who designed this shit?")

The best way to elaborate on the difference is that Delta Recruits for example could unlock a reuseable self+group-rez ground device and a reuseable ability CD reducer space device for the account, while Temporal Agent Recruits got account access to some high-end traits like Superior Predictive Algorhytms, rep gear permanently set to Mk XIII Ultra Rare and a permanent 20% to ASS exp and campaign progress.

Delta may not have provided that much account benefits, but compared to Temporal Agent the Gamma Recruit stuff is just pitiful. You know, the ASS thing aside.

Gamma doesnt have anything outside the 9th slot really, sure card and DOFF are alright but not only we dont know what they do that is kinda telling, we knew the Temporal DOFF was a Consulted that didnt eat a slot when on active, this Jem'hadar is just a Warfare Specialist meaning its likely be the usual "damage vs Hur'q", it could better but again, we havent been told anything specific.

I think Temporal Recruitment was just better simply because Cryptic was panicking over metrics so they made sure everyone that was playing would make one, I dont know why Gamma is so shite ... maybe they are still banking on upgrades and re-eng so they dont want to give bonus to that? Maybe they just thought people would jump in because of the Delta Recruitment re-run? I dont know ...

Dont worry, when you got to 50 you unlock the Reputation system and then the REAL fun starts.

As amusing as that was, DO NOT POST SHIT TO YOUTUBE. You do realize this is a public forum, right?

No that would imply Cryptic wouldn't appear to be actively hostile to the idea of new players.

Really, the amount of limited time of availability stuff that's extremely valuable is just ridiculous, Temporal Agent recruitment is just one of the examples.

A better example of how it works is that Cryptic tries to run the place like Cartmanland.

The video itself is unlisted. I'll remove the post, since you initiated us into the mysteries of the technique; there were people standing around (and/or dancing) with us pretty much any time we were doing it in just a single instance, though, so clearly the horse is already out of the barn to some extent.

Naw, that area is of general interest to everyone. They're claiming their recruitment prizes and character upgrades. Your presence there and your clowning around is not considered conspicuous in that regard.

Why would anyone even want a Commander hybrid seat? I mean Intelligence has OSS, Pilot has "lock trajectory", but was does Command offer you worth sacrifizing an oldschool ability?

And the intel ships are mostly a trait/console in a shipshaped box anyway. Two of three are fugly as sin, and my Fart Intelbird always blew up faster than a Miranda in ISE. :argh:

so i patched sto and launched it - went thru some idle pylons collecting 2000 zen for jem unlock and launched my adventure ...

near the end of second episode i remembered why i stopped playing sto awhile ago - as The only piece of software that i run on this pc sto client sometimes decides to terminate my sound card - not its drivers - whole shabang hardwired into system ... and only reset helps - trying to nudge it into consiousnes in any way doesnot work ... kinda shitty one

What? There are plenty of ships like that. What are you trying to do?

i'm an idiot. only now i realised. i was reading "hybrid" as "universal".

so, generic question: which ship/pack should i buy to get an up-to-date, usable, decent heavy escort ship for my nausicaan commander? the pilot raptor pack sounds cool enough, but iirc pilot skills aren't exactly exciting stuff.

Sounds like your toaster's CPU is an overworked single mom and can't take care of her audio chip babbie anymore. Sad.

Quality coding brought to you by Cryptic "what, CPUs can have more than one core?" Studios. :salute:

Go Martha Rapetor or go home. Seriously, the Mat'ha is still best deal for a raptor (which qualifies as a heavy escort). :obviously:

Intelseat, 5/2 config. Dat nosecannon. Okay-ish trait. Vaguely resembles a Vor'cha. You need to go for disruptors if you want to use the nosecannon tho. Which is not a bad thing.

The strength of Pilot ships is Pilot Maneuvers, the skills are mostly bad or very situational but the added mobility of Maneuvers makes then interesting.

I would say the Kolasi Siege Destroyer that yes, I know its Lt. Cmdr Eng/Command but you can use concentrate firepower with it and its a decent destroyer on its own, no fancy gimmicks ... now the extra mile would be gettting Delta Operations pack since lotta ships but its the Bridge Officers that are unique that is why its 1st pick,, otherwise in relation to packs would be the Temporal Agent followed by the Temporal ships (since those 3 are cross faction) and I would put the Cradassian ships before that one if they were on sale since you get 4 cross faction with that one, the Vanguard pack would also been 2nd if, again, was on sale and I dont think it is ...
