Besides, just picture this:
Avellone shows up and teases you. He teases you with his eyes. He teases you with his lips. His hands move around his chest and he whispers:
You like what you see you big basement dweller?
Well it can be yours.
Just tip me. Make that pledge. You know you want it.
I'll take off this shirt for you when we reach two millions.
And maybe something more latter *wink*

My feelings for this man are... confusing and disturbing.

YOU ARE NOT HELPING!!!

Well, I have no problems embracing my hidden homosexuality for MCA. It is understandable, explainable. Natural.

It can change the nature of a man.

Hah, dollars. What use are such remnants of the old world in the post-apocalyptic wastes?

1. Basically what I'm saying is, the Eternity funds will only supply the devs working on Eternity, which will be a much smaller team than the usual 30-60 devs to accommodate for the smaller amount of funding.

2. They aren't going to use the indie funding of Eternity to fund 120 devs- that's just absurd.

1. I dismissed the thought, because it's not separate legal entities. 60 people working for 3k is 180k a month. Now, this company is full industry veterans that probably won't work for that much as they probably have families, mortgages and etc.

2. Yes, but then there is an issues with senior management, paying the bills, accounting and etc.

My point is that you can't look at them as separate entities.
As we saw when Microsoft cancelled their next-gen RPG, Obsidian can be ruthless when it comes to firing people to cut costs down to match income.

Josh is bro.
I'd to see that sound file used in one of in-game characters.

However his video kind of reminded me of sad keanu reeves :(

Second Idea. The Pen&Paper Tier. I saw a monster manual and a players manual, so they're going full RPG on this, so why not make a tier with the game + the books (and cloth map plox!)?

Over there.
I started scanning the thread, but got too pissed off at the RTwP butthurt, so I'mma just ask. Is there any sort of vigilance given to the stifling of the Biowarian Faggot Faggotry that's likely to swarm the project forum? I worry that, since Tim Cain takes it up the pooper, there's going to be a sort of "we don't discuss this" PC self censoring among the brethren. Sure, he's a god among RPG developers, and I really don't give a rat's ass what he does in his bedroom, but I hope that's no excuse to let the Biowarification of this game get out of hand.

For me, a good romance is one of the central pillars of what makes a good RPG. If they took romance out I'd probably downgrade my pledge. Without amazing and loveable characters I just don't think it would pack the same emotional punch.

?????

I think Nina needs to get a boyfriend, girlfriend, "life companion", or new batteries for her dildo.

I'd love it if Obsidian troll these guys by messing with all the romance tropes. The love/romance themes of Eternity can be platonic love ala Rumi and obsessive love ala 'Play Misty For Me', it would be glorious :obviously:

This makes a lot of sense. I was thinking the same thing.

Small time money for small time shit.

Yes, and maybe not at all. Fuck those losers.

The more big names come on Kickstarter the less hope for small names to get noticed. Which is just how it is in the mainstream industry.
You do realize that if, I don't know, Bioware would do a Kickstarter it would break any record so far?

That's just patently fucking false, "big projects" get people to sign up and even pay attention to the small ones in the first place, see this: http://www.kickstarter.com/blog/blockbuster-effects
Double Fine Adventure got me to sign up and spend my dough (and because of that Wasteland 2 exists). That in turn made me pay attention to some of the other projects too, I didn't give a fuck about "KickStarter" before.
Games like Faster Than Light, Castle Story, Banner Saga etc. exist mainly and had the sort of success they had because of bigger projects paving the way for them.

You don't really need to worry about Tim, he may be gay but not a fag. I'd rather worry about Sawyer...

Since they're going RtwP, they should take advantage and make a NwN style MP, Mods, and DM client. The best way to create an expansive IP is to let others do it for you. A proper isometric game like this could combine the best of BG and NWN. THis could set right what what went wrong so to speak. PnP rules could really help in this regard too, though.

"Surely, there is more to RPGs than dwarves?"

Sure, but none of them as worthy of pledging money for over dwarves.

Since Tim Cain was one of the first to include same-sex romance in a game, there's little doubt that it will happen again with this one.

I'm surprised there already aren't tons of Bioware fans demanding it on the Obsidian forums.
