Probably bullshit. It's retardera, not even real game developers go there like they did on neofag. Microsoft has no need or desire to get their hands on Obsidian. Every other investment they made was done with purpose.

I don't understand what they would be purchasing. It's just shitty employees and horrible project managers with no interesting IPs (even if pillars could be considered as such, it belongs to black rock company or whatever). If Microsoft wants their own RPG making studio, they can just hire people and that'd be it. No sense in paying Obshitian a dime.

Likely bullshit. Obsidian already has a sweet publishing deal with Take Two.

Doesn't make sense for Microsoft to buy a company that wasted their time and money with Stormlands. :M

No, Dark Rock Industries is the owner. And even if it's part of the package, it's a useless IP.

Can't really see what MSFT would gain from this purchase, but at least Josh would get to pitch Funko Pop Pillars and force everyone to play in that dumbass big head mode he loves so much.

Edit: And MSFT isn't stupid, I'm sure they'd be acquiring DRIL and whatever the fuck else of worth Feargus was looking to cash out as part of the deal. The question is more does Pillars matter / attract enough customers for a company that has to answer to stockholders?

Wait, Obsidian created POE so how the hell other company holds rights to IP?
It is shell company created for holding ips and their protection in case of bankruptcy or merger. It is pretty common in the busyness circles.

I am surprise that Feargus is that savvy .

Just a quick observation at this point: Piling on to an obese shithead is a waste of effort as you will never be able to hold down all that fat.

Maybe to decrease Obsidian's market value and buy them for cheaper?
EA did the same with Respawn Entertainment by tanking the release of Titanfall 2 and then acquiring the studio for much cheaper.

IIRC, Obsidian wasted Microsoft's money not their own.

What's Obsidian's market value? Are there even two parties interested in acquiring the studio? Currently it's in the single digit millions including the Dark Rock Industries licenses, excluding the Cainarsky project. No ones acquires a studio with 100 employees, which mainly does work for third parties and lacks a focus.
