For the basic estus flask type things, it's like, if you've got none you get a few out of pity, if you've got 99 you can carry 9 at a time. Something like that.

Put all your items into inventory before enter a mission, you will get some for free. Use item to quit mission and repeat to farm.

I found it thank you. I'm at the first proper boss now. He seems easy but I keep fucking it up. Still getting used to the stamina system and figuring out the consumables. Do you just get free items if you spend your points and equip them? I seem to have 4 flasks by default now. I think I got one from saving a frog?

You get more flasks on respawn if you find those green goblin guys in the levels. Default flask count goes from 3 to 8 IIRC. Every region has its own goblin count.

I was using the pick up booster goblin. 3 seems enough to beat the first boss any way. He's not difficult just very hard hitting and balancing the stamina reload with him is the biggest problem. I've been switching weapons a lot so I don't have muscle memory. Does the blue circle effect mean it's time to reload?
