there should be plenty in the village - and that's where my character was at, I'm just not sure if putting a claim on the area would help much as people can trespass, i'm sure someone who was running a full scale mining/smelting operation can trespass/rage/steal

Yeah but if they do trespass / rage / steal, we can trace them if a claim is there.

I won't be able to claim the entrance of the mine it looks like due to the proximity of Wolfram's claim, but I can try inside the mine itself perhaps? block off the breached portion of wall?

For future reference: when you find an isolated mine, claim the area, quickly start large farming operations, place more cupboards out in the open than one might bother to steal and fill them with seeds and other stuff worthless to high level players to strengthen the illusion and make sure cupboards block mine entrance. Don't overdo it, though.

Also don't bother with planting trees in front of them. People aren't that stupid, they will look behind the trees specifically. My pseudo farming land have been discovered, raided and pillaged a few times and then left alone for good and I still have my mind, so people are only that much stupid.

That said, if you ever find a place matching this description, it's either mine or another player's from whom I learned the method, so don't fuck around making assumptions.

It's on a mountain - all rock, with stone tiles laid for what seems like 3 screens worth of area.
