Throwing in general is just stupidly strong.

Except for Black Powder, which is very inexpensive, you can get all the ingredients for Explosive Grenades for free by rummaging through waste bins, and then sell the crafted grenades to gun shops for huge profits. A grenadier should be rolling in Gilbert Bates-like wealth almost as soon as he hits Tarant. After that it's just a matter of figuring out which kinds of grenades you want to use in combat.

Before that, just use molotov cocktails.

Sure, but black powder doesn't grow on trees, it's quite heavy (150) and the final product is even heavier, same for all the grenades.
You can't reliably use grenades as your main offensive weapon, throwing them like there's no tomorrow, you have to use them as secondary weapon.

For magick melee, there's a cute staff you get for helping the dorf in Qintarra. Staff of Xorant, +25 to hit, 38! speed.

Anything speed above 25 is overkill. You can't get less than 1AP/attack. And you can't backstab with the staff.

Why do weapons matter when you can summon goyim to fight for you?

Summons and NPCs eat your experience, did Drog ever make an option for the UAP to give you the experience for the damage companions/summons do I remember him boxing that it would be an easy fix before he ejected way 4? years back.

Yes, exp for killing an enemy instead of hitting it.

You don't even need to level to win as a wizard. That's how strong they are. Also, xp isn't hard to get so it doesn't matter.

After years of playing it I'm kinda wondering if Dodge is even worth it or would those 5 points be better spent elsewhere.

If you can kill everyone before they can even react, it wouldn't be. Heck, when I go melee mage, I don't even bother with armour. I just wear that +reaction smoking suit the entire game.

I do play melee but (confirmation bias) my character doesn't want to Dodge even when it's maxed. Better to spend those points on things that will help me kill faster.

Well, it's highly RNG, yeah. Still better than putting those 5 points into HP I think, defense wise. Anyway, I agree: better to invest in offense instead. At least first. And then if you have so much AP that you kill most enemies before they could act as Cael said - why you'd need dodge at all?

So you play in real-time with an overpowered build story mode?
Wow, no wonder people here love Disco disco so much...

I've played Arcanum many times and if you don't cheese, you'll need dodge and why would you cheese, the game is not difficult, so if you do, it's like playing the story mode.
Clear enough for you?

Yeah, it's clear now, thanks. Also, you're wrong. Unless you atribute any build w/o dodge to cheese for some reason. Example: melee/stealth/backstab. You kill anything on your turn, then if needed step back and press end turn, enemy skips his/their turn because they don't see you, repeat. Why you need dodge in this case or is it cheese tactic?

You play in any way that does not gimp yourself in some way, you will be accused of cheesing games by dramaqueens.
