Been trying this angels deck in Standard 2020 event and holy shit, every fucking deck i play against is some netdeck bs chandra/reef/field of the dead/calamity. There's no variety, every deck is built around 2+ of those cards.

Really annoying :/ I'd like to play a fucking game of magic where opp doesn't rely on the 4 most op cards in standard

Nice. I was a little sad about Mastermind's Acquisition leaving standard since we'd basically be left with Karn for wishboarding, but we're getting another toy in Eldraine. Doesn't let you tutor out of your deck and you can't pull creatures, but overall not bad. Not to mention you can reuse it if you bounce the faerie back with 3feri or something.

I also kinda hope they don't do human drafting just because bot drafting fits in better with Arena's laid back nature, to my mind. Nice to see they'll get some fairly basic user interface shit like friends list and loaning decks to friends. Artifact still shits all over MTGA with features like that, sadly. Overall fairly good news, even though moving themselves to release state means they'll hopefully catch a lot more flak when they break shit constantly. Also a little disappointed that brawl's in October since after playing it a bit in the event I'm looking forward to fucking around with it some more, especially making decks. It'll probably get super degenerate and aggressive once people can make their own shit, but hopefully there'll be enough room to play some goofy shit.

*Weekly Wins and Daily Quests will reset with the release of Throne of Eldraine (Weekly Wins will be set to 0/15 and all players will have three quests to complete).

So it sounds like there's no reason to feel like you should hoard quests or weekly wins leading up to the Eldraine launch. Supposedly. They haven't done this for any other set before (Giving you a new stack of 3 quests) so I don't know if it's just poor wording on their part or what, but what the hell.

Just discovered this.

Holy fucking shit ! MTG that doesn't want to fuck you out of money !
With just 5€ and few codes you get 6 starting decks, about 15 boosters.
This is already more than i expected and paid for years ago when i started.
What is more interesting is that leveling scheme is pretty great and you get wildcard/booster every once in while.

Tried Heartstone but it was fucking bad mostly due to monetization scheme and ridicolous amount of grind to play it free + retarded system.

Looks like i will have to drop forge. Sure it has only two last seasons but i am sure they will be adding more and probably older sets too. With enough cosmetic bullshit that wales can buy maybe whole game will be very cheap to play.

Well i am comparing it to Heartstone and normal MTG.
Few years back i had to pay about 40$ to even have deck and i got like 2 boosters for another 10$

I played today and i got gold for 3 boosters.

Boosters are nice if you want wildcards to get specific cards, when you can, save up around 10 000 and do a few drafts. If you're any good with it, you'll get premium currency this way (and a good bunch of cards).

ok well I'm not buying any packs of eld so I had to use the remaining few wildcards I had to update my favorite deck (dovin's bouncy titty bar)

It's unfortunately MUCH weaker after losing ixalan's binding, blink of an eye, and perilous voyage. It's really difficult to bounce things that aren't creatures with the cards we have available and the draw/scry from blink/voyage was invaluable for this deck.

HOWEVER, brazen borrower is really good as cheap bounce + planeswalker removal and time wipe works really nicely with the adventure mechanic since I get both the instant and creature back. Had to add chem insight for compensate for loss of draw however BUT hey at least the deck kinda works..

Also angels still works with no ELD cards post rotation chandra's 2x 4/4s get em evry time

I crafted a few of those for my ug flash cancer. The animation that goes with casting it just takes the cake as the most disgusting thing I've seen in this game. Reminds me of those uncanny valley animated faces from the early 2000s.

Speaking of pets, while I did turn off the cat almost immediately, I actually like the vanilla version of the fox. Feels like whoever's been animating it wasn't slacking off this time.

I've got like 60 rare WC and 40 mythic WC and I feel like I don't have enough because it seems like every Eldraine deck is 25 lands and 35 rares/mythics. I can't even go back to my comfort zone of playing simic mill with fog because of questing beast, I just have to live in this hellish nether-world. I'm sad bros.

Edit: Though just to work in some more bitching, I was really disappointed to find that we didn't get the extra copies of the cards from the starter decks. We got whatever cards we were missing that were needed to make the starter decks, but we didn't get the extras on top of it up to a full playset.

P sure sites that post suggested decks jam in unnecessary rares and mythics cuz they also sell individual cards in their shops.
