Storm is starting to come together! Got 4 wins in a row, 2 wins with lethal Tendrils, 1 win was a concession after Mind's Desire hit Star of Extinction on turn 4, and last win was a random concession for some reason. I was also 1 storm off from a 5th win, which I would have gotten had I counter spelled some of his life gain earlier.

my last 2 drafts this beg season were both golgari, 7:0 and 7:1.
After securing all the rares I was in general gravitating towards golgari.

now its time to slowly gather gold for either anthology or next release

I don't get this draft format at all... I build decent-to-good decks with removal, on curve, good rares, synergy, etc and get roflstomped 0-3

I built shit jank 4-color decks made of all the rare i rare drafted and go 7-2.

No idea wtf is going on.

decks that curve out nicely and have a couple removal spells have done really well for me
also decks that have the stupid op bombs like blot out the sun always win if you live to cast them

idk this draft set's still boring as hell imo

creatures are weak and there are few bombs. What worked well for me was to stock on combat tricks. Most of them happen to give +1/+1 counters which helps your critters outgrow enemy ones.

As such I deemed golgari strong, although white wasnt bad. Had some nice wb results too. I was doing fine even without destruction spells(hard to get them while begdrafting). Lifelink helps too.

I was utterly destroyed by enemies going serious and utilizing learn mechanics properly

i actually think it might be bugged for the event, rope didn't seem to be showing up so I think you can just do nothing in muilligan phase forever and wait for oppo to drop

anyone with jap alt art can tell me if you can pick its picture as deck pic/avatar/whatever you call it? I assume its not the case but im still curious. Claim the first born might be best looking of them all and is actually playable in some decks of mine
duress is nice too but for reasons i cant name it looks too similar to thought seize and i would be mistaking them in my hand

look, I actually tried playing the first few singleton games. every deck i matched against was some copy paste running 20+ copies of dragon's approach and a bunch of "discard + draw"
that's not singleton
I don't wanna play those games

Oh shit, you're right. Maybe I should craft up them there faithless lootings, though I've been playing fuck-all historic so I don't know if anything's really going nuts in there. And nothing in standard really leaps out at me as asking for a ban other than maybe trickery just because it's annoying. Alrune's since it's a pain in the ass? As much as it bugs me, surely not emergent ultimatum.

I've been grinding out my daily rewards like every 2 or 3 days just to collect the (((gold))). I did end up buying that historic card set for 25K gold, but I'm mostly waiting for eldraine to rotate out before I get back to trying to come up with some new weird combos.

I have some thoughts for "body of research" which I tested a bit, and some of the other planeswalkers, but it just feels like Eldraine overshadows everything, and I always revert back to playing those cards, or trying to defend against those cards.

I see lots of people playing the "Learn" mechanic, but I'm still on the fence about how "good" it is. I can usually just power through a person spamming "learn" spells and defeat them.

depends on deck really. Its nice that you can fetch whatever you need in given situation. Usually that is limited to tutor land/removal/spawn creatures.
Works ok in wizardry package, cant say its op in constructed.
Limited is different beast though, mastering them is crucial
