So I got an email, apparently Open Beta starts September 27,
closed beta participants will receive 3 promo planeswalkers.
Much cards, such wow.

There will be an account wipe and all purchases will be refunded.
Can't be bothered to search, but is this supposed to be the last wipe? I'm hoping so, cause I can't be bothered to do all the grind all over again once more.

Well, that Ral Izzet guy is a more expensive and worse Chandra, Torch of Defiance and that new Vraska that comes quite cheap, but doesn't pump out dudes.
We're also getting the proper good card drawing, land-untapping Tereferi.

They should top off with "I was in the beta and all I got was this shitty sleeve" card sleeves.

Josu Vess Lich knight could also be a good addition. Post rotation is gonna bring a lot of new deck idea. Assassin trophy is pretty good . I think Golgary , Dimir and Izzet are gonna make awesome tier 1-2 deck . whitin standard format of course. And the 6/6 Flying trample surveil for 3BB is just delecious . Kinda cool they let us try out Ravnica before paper release. Any word on friend list or something like that?

Shadowverse is anime Hearthstone. If you want something more similar to MtG try Eternal.

Ive been playing since the closed beta 4-5 month ago IIRC and I had around 6ish decks for competitive play , loads of casual deck . Im guessing if you dont need 8 Mythic and 16 rares in a deck , youll get what you want in a few weeks , and dont buy pack. Stock up and go draft. Unless that really not your thing.
All and all , if they have the same ''economy'' 1 quest each day (500-750 golds each ) , 3 free boosters available each week, 5 victories = 1 boosters . I find them mighty generous . And with each boosters opened , you have the chance of getting a mythic , rare , unco or common wildcard , which let you craft any card.
Havent put a penny in , and i got most of the card i wanted.

I managed to build a range of competitive decks without spending a dime. In the end, it depends if you are any good at MtG and how much time you have to burn. If you can reasonably spend 2-3 hours per day, you should have no problems building your collection.
At first, focus on building one reasonably competitive deck to grind with (by that I mean something you're comfortable to play in quick constructed), then move to another to keep it varied and you should be all set.
The game is pretty good when it comes to giveaways, so unless there's a dramatic change to the system I don't see any reason to drop any cash on it unless you want to be competitive.

You can probably drop them a fiver for the introductory package... if you really want to.

Rares are a bottleneck if you want to be truly competitive. There's a huge difference between playing with tap lands and playing with rare shocklands and other rare duals. Crafting a full set of Rootboung Crags and taking out Timber Gorges for my Unsealing deck made a huge difference for example.

btw, going over GRN with a fine comb, Experimental Frenzy is nuts. It's red Necropotence. The deck practically builds itself already:

4X Experimental Frenzy
4X Llanowar Elf
4X Dryad Greenseeker
2X Llanowar Scout
4X Shock
4X Lightning Strike

+ X number of jump start, scry, explore and surveil cards and what not. Or just the red weenie base of Viashino Pyromancers, Ghitu Lavarunners and Wizard's Lightnings.

OR in a U/R Historic shell with Artificer's Apprentice.

OR in a weenie Pirates swarm.

It's a Bazaars-level card that you could actually mulligan down to 5 or 4 just to find it in your opening hand.

And combos with Broken Bond!

I got through the NPE and did my dailies already. Surprised that they are giving out Ravnica packs instead of Core 2019.

Not sure how to put together a deck for Singleton, got a Ritual of Soot out of my first GRN pack so maybe mono Black although none of the black mythics are that exciting.

I was planning on starting by opening Dominaria, and free GRN packs doesn't change that plan. However, not the quandary is whether they will give out Core 2019 or not, since if they aren't giving out Core 2019 its actually a decent expansion to collect through wildcards (since it has a few good cards and a bunch of junk).

It seems like they are also giving out the two-color precons as well? Hurrah!
