Sakimura was so distressed, Kayano basically had to ran after him, and her comment about Uehara sounds a bit strange.Sakimura seems quite annoyed by the grain of condescension you carefully buried in the shell of polite words, but before he can say anything else, the rest of the people from the lobby arrive.
Kayano is at their forefront, her make-up starting to run from the beads of sweat rolling down her cheeks. “Shinoseki-san, so here you are! And I see that Uehara-san is well and fine, which is good. Really, I think splitting off from the group is a bad idea, both of you,” she lectures. You catch her eyes darting towards you more often than not, trying to see if you are concealing anything on your body.
I don't know if that was down to simple jealousy or worse. You move away from Uehara and Sakimura, and seat yourself on one of the old couches. The dusty leather squeaks noisily under your weight. As you wait for the others to arrive, Sakimura gives you a hostile glance. “What are you doing there?”
Can we ask the team what exactly happened there and what Kayano was telling them about us when we have a quiet moment next? I feel like even though she is gone, she is not done with poisoning our group dynamics with her influence.
"Behead those who may be Shulgi." Sounds pretty well-intentioned.Hm, think of him as a hot-headed but well-intentioned character run by another Codex
We lack the sophistication to truly become a Shulgi-like character.while Shinoseki is this Shulgi-like character who keeps trying to steal his waifu away.
Wait, are we actually trying to steal waifus? Are the waifus even noticing? It is a bit too subtle.
Perks of being a Codexer.Shulgi was reckless, too, in a way. He bet his whole homeworld in one of his gambits, and lost.
What I am saying, though, is that we have our own, special brand of crazy.
When was it?
Seriously, the girl has been nothing but trouble: first she gets us out of top class on a whim, then we save her ass from an unwanted courtier and are promptly rewarded by being dragged to "Bumfuckistan In Space" where we proceed to drag her family and BF out of a hostage situation with nukes. And do we even get a thanks or support in return? Nope, she's cozying up to Nahim. And that shows me exactly where we stand: entertaining boytoy for her to play with, or "friendzone" in modern terms. There is absolutely no logical reason for us not to ditch her after this operation, too bad that her death will most likely spark tremendous outrage in the Empire and a "REMOVE WORST CURRY FROM PREMISES!" sentiment.
Lies! Scurrilous lies and rumors, I say!He wasn't the only one.
