Precisely. No one has a greater influence on a young man's life than his old parole officer.
What about it?
Have you seen these wierdos? A creepy, passive aggressive office lady, an absent-minded rent-a-cop, a nutjob schoolgirl, a street rat exorcist and a knuckleheaded high schooler.

Our team is diverse and :incloosive:.

But if you object to their company so much, why don't you clean up your acquaintance list, starting with a pair of cheap hussies?

By the way, I don't renember us cussung ever since we picked up Ei. Is she already making us into a better person?

Uh, guys, I think there is not enough proper DISCUSS.

It has to be either A1 or B. The barrier is the only thing we know for sure will work, but we don't know if we have the time for it (though Ei implicitly promises us to buy some), while B is nearly instantaneous (compared to the ritual) with zero guarantee it will work.

I am surprised so many people are going for the stabbity stab. With that kind of situation on our hands, I'd thought the distribution would be more equal.
Considering that the Codex has decided to go the Liam Nii-san route let's continue that way, consistency.

Yeah, that was my reasoning, too, to be honest.

But then when we ran out of the room, guns spells blazing, our performance was rather lacking. That made me rethink a few things.

If eXXXtreme fails is because wasn't eXXXtreme enough.
This is a Japanese setting, remember, we are still at the Gambattè stage, time to go full BANZAI!!!

Who is giving up? You're giving up!

We have already treated the setting as a CRPG, and all that is left for us is to realize that it has a class-based character system.

What is good for a barbarian Nii-san might not necessarily work for a thief-mage dualclass Acchan. Let the guys like Sakimura tank for you instead. Where is he, by the way?

Hmmm, speaking of classes.

Mori-senpai is obviously a ranger.
Uehara is a priestess.
Sakimura is a white knight paladin. A stereotypical one, at that, good&dumb.
Amanozaki is, predictably, a witch/sorceress.
Maeda is an aristocrat. Duh.
Sawada is a bard. Explains why he is so useless.

What about the rest of them?

Spoke as a true Gaijin and as someone that never played Wizardry.
We are a Ninja, obviously, a magic warrior.

I thought this was a classless system with open skill trees like an ARPG.
What's next, Vancian spellcasting?

Ninja is closer to a rogue, though, which is my whole point. Stealth, backstabbing, all that jazz.

If you throw lockpicking in the midst, which we know we have, it becomes painfully obvious that a warrior we are not.

Nah, it's just that we break some of the class restrictions due to being a special snowflake, like TNO.

What's next, Vancian spellcasting?
Well, do you see our mana stat anywhere?

The spells probably work on a per-encounter basis, with consumables to prevent spamming the more powerful ones.

I suppose, if at first you fail, try, try again?

You are a w/m/t/r/p/b/s/s/n multiclass. But there is an XP cap.

Sakimura is still recovering from getting hit.

What's with the archaic class names, by the way? We're in the 20th/21st century, how about something more contemporary?

Only do it with more XTREME.

Sadly, we have abandoned the XTREME school of thought when we didn't try checking the roof during the third night. :negative:

But what about XP penalties for multiclassing?

And what does the last 'n' even stand for?

Sakimura is still recovering from getting hit.
Uh, that was my way of saying 'look at where it got him'.

You have perfectly described a Ninja there, add the Ninja sword skills and Kuji Kiri and it's complete.

Would his charge work better if he gnawed on the stool leg (or whatever his weapon was), or is he intristically incapable of being useful?

He would be more useful if he could increase his spiritual power, aka his power level is not high enough. I have a power level chart hidden in the notes somewhere.

Howc does one increase their power level? Is it independent from XP gain?

Many ways, most involving decades of meditation, or breeding bloodlines with strong spiritual ability, or controlling successive reincarnations.

Failing that, you could always attempt to (almost) die and come back to life, and keep repeating the process. :M

We want the power level tier list?

Sounds boring.

Well, except for successive reincarnations, that is. I guess either Tendou family practised one, or someone practiced it on them?

And why does it even work?

We do!!!

And why does it even work?

Breaks down the personal boundaries between the material and the spiritual, increases the soul's sensitivity, e.g. all the tales of people who start seeing dead people after a near death experience. Though if we're comparing spiritual power increases, NDEs don't give nearly as much as something like seeing the Abyss.

He should have took Shorinji Kenpo instead of Shotokan then.

Can't we throw all of them to the Abyss, then, for a mass level up? It's for their own good!
