B>A. After all, surely a demon lord's daughter ought to expect us to be adulterous, or polygamous.

I'm also curious as to what would happen with A, since in all the stories, the hero never actually accepts such a proposal. You usually tend to take the whole empire or to kill the villain.

Usually it's a "but thou must" or bad end--you know, "Good! Now hand over the Hero's Medal as a show of good faith!" "HERP DERP DERP OKAY" "And now, in a completely unexpected turn of events, I shall show you that faith in the literal embodiment of evil may have been somewhat ill-conceived!"

Its better to defeat the Demon Lord now.
If we stall this, we will get dragged into a prolonged fight later.
I say lets dispose of this enemy and take over the world in our own lazy way without an adversary of such strength.
Also, this way we can claim the Daughter for ourselves afterwards and nobody will object.

I'll go for C just because the Demon Lord is annoying. And we'll take his daughter prisoner after we kill him.

. Of course we will fight to the death, prevail and liberate the Kingdoms. All hail the Hero who slew the Demon Lord.

It is interesting, though. For a daughter to take after the mother and be considered beautiful, her mother would probably have to be a human. That doesn't mesh well with the Demon Lord's words that humans are like cattle... well, unless he is telling us something scandalous about himself.

I know this is cheeky fantasy and all, but still, for species to be able to interbreed they should not be too far removed from each other. It is quite possible that the Demon Lord one day was a mortal himself.

Hmm, to accept the divine providence, or to rebel against it. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Well, succubi are also demons. These demons all look like humans with horns and bat wings and tails in general. You have pretty ones and you have ugly ones, just like with people.

Also, since he is the Demon Lord and Final Boss of the dungeon, he obviously has multiple forms for a multi-stage battle. Might turn into a one-winged angel for his final form, you never know.:M

A sound like we would actually have to ACTIVELY work towards that.

Well, succubi are also demons.
Is their form fixed, or are they changelings?

How widespread is polymorphing in the setting, in general? It is expected of divinities and bosses, but what about the lesser demonfolk and mages?

I take it the DL's stance on humans is not widely shared among demons? I mean, succubi are meant to seduce men, right, else why would they look humanoid? And I don't know if I would like it very much if my sole mission in life would be seducing cattle.:lol:

Polymorphing the self is achieved through magic in most cases, but it is rare, difficult to control, and has many side-effects for lesser beings. An illusion spell would be more efficient if an appearance change is all that is desired. There are races of polymorphers but those will not appear until later. Polymorphing other beings is relatively easier, but would still take significant magic ability to pull off.

I mentioned succubi as an example of demons that aren't ugly (according to general understanding), but for this setting in particular, succubi and incubi are just another name for demon spies and infiltrators. They are trained to become one, just like the humans train to become ninjas, and aren't a specific subspecies of demon. They use sex and charm as one of their weapons, and they can drain energy via sex, but those are not their only roles in the war. It is a myth perpetuated by misinformation and superstition on the human side. I was possibly going to have the princess explain this later when you try to find out if she's any good in bed.

As for whether they think humans are livestock, it depends on their hierarchy. Most, if not all demons, see humans as the enemy and their inferior, while the very top brass definitely treat humans as lesser beings no better than dogs or cats. Of course, you should not casually mention that this means a bunch of dogs have pushed the superior demon master race to the brink of defeat, that might make them angry.

So let me get this straight. We got in all the fuss of planning the assassination of the Demon Lord that probably poses the biggest threat to us being Overlords, mobilised the entire world to fight demons as a diversion, risked the lives of our companions to get infront of said Lord, and we are going to throw it all away over some pussy?

I dont know if i should be :butthurt: or :troll: tbh.

The demon lord and demon princess might also, both, wind up being butthurt. Might be the lord has other plans for his daughter, and the daughter herself seems less that amorous towards our protagonist currently..

Who do you think will inherit the whole world after the Demon Lord's tragic, yet inevitable demise? And the best thing is that we don't have to lift a finger for it to happen. :M

And no, we didn't got in all that fuss and accumulate the armies, we were dragged into it. Forcibly. By a power that still tries to guide our hand. It's not like there is a lot to throw away in the first place.

But honestly, I half-expect the deal to be off anyway because 'we must fight the DEMONZ' and prophecies. Or because he values his daughter higher than half of the world.

Also, when in doubt, always choose :butthurt:.

Pah! It takes one look at her to see that she hasn't seen a man in her whole life. To be so concerned about her chastity over her safety, some demoness she is!

Well, that, and the Codex would get butthurt if someone one upped us. :M

Prophecy speaks of a hero that defeats the Demon Lord but that doesn't have to come true today.

I like A best, it gives the most rewards quantitatively. B has the best quality reward and with C there are no rewards but good feels in sight so.

So, is it the right time to ask where on the scale of hotness is the demon princess? :M Lobelia and Mieren would not be unwelcome, too.

Using Gorgeous Goddesses and Demon Lord as the highest and lowest point, of course.

Also, those spells.

Invisibility, Sleep, Doppleganger. No doubt mastered by years of bathhouse spying. :salute:

I'm puzzled as to why we believe he has the means to follow through on any of these deals. He is, to all appearances, losing rather badly. Offering half the world while your final fortress is under siege seems delusional. His daughter might be hot, but marrying into a family on the brink of total annihilation seems like a rather poorly thought out move certain to lead to a great deal of arduous and unpleasant work with no end in sight. This seems the antithesis of our character concept.

The medallion might be controlling us, but it also might have a sensible idea for a stupid reason, and one we already agreed with independently. After all, an official Month of Laziness achieved seems better than half the world promised by a being who has control of almost none of said territory.

Tentatively, and with great reservation, C.
I'd rather reject the medallion's influence and reject on pragmatic grounds, though. Perhaps our character knows better than I do, and believes the Demon Lord could plausibly make good on his offers.

Re-establishing her family's power will be our wife's responsibility, not ours. We're going to be a stay-at-home Overlord. :smug:

Edit: In all seriousness though, our would-be wife would likely not put up with our laziness.
