I'm all for better translation, especially for free. But I've yet to see any legitimate arguments that the Witcher's dialogues are bad other than "they aren't AS GOOD as the original Polish".

Well, the oft-cited example with "humans always hated dwarves and elves" is pretty atrocious. Not quite in the Sapkowsky's style, that's for sure.

DU bought the game when it came out. DU hit the world's worst loading times he's experienced in a computer game ever. DU uninstalled it. By the time I bothered to look at the 1.2 patch, I already knew about the Enhanced Edition. There's no reason to bother installing it again now before that comes out.

Don't be so cynical. Remember all the EE stuff is free for anyone who already bought the regular version. I doubt you'll see any other developer/publisher ever do that. CD Project rocks for doing this. So put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Note: If you want the really cool stuff like the map and things (and not just the patch, which is going to be a mighty hefty download) I'm pretty sure you have to buy the new box (which HUZZAH will be the same price as the box you've already paid for). I have heard rumours that you can just pay postage if you register. I'd like to see how much postage is before I praise them for that. Either way, "free" my mother-fucking ass. It'll take me about a day to download a 1 GB patch on my slow Aussie broadband. That's if I want to do other things on the net at the same time.

These guys are going out of their way to add in all the content that was cut from the game before release (at no extra charge) and some people still bitch about it. They're even offering it as a fucking download, so you don't have to haul your fat ass to the store and get it or wait for a CD in the mail.

Would you be happy with the original version? Because I was. Now they're giving me all this extra stuff FOR FREE.

The proper way to react to this would be with a "Thank you," not "You should have given me this earlier."

Here's how CD Projekt plug the Enhanced Edition their very selves:

I've yet to see a patch where they rerecord a few thousand lines, hire new voice actors and add more animations and adventures.

If english localization was that bad, fixing the translations and rerecording voiceovers still constitutes as patching.

Umm, i guess you people missed one thing about this EE. Along with the patch you get the game editor - D'Jjinni and 2 completly new modules made by CDPRed, which (in total) add about 5-7 hours of new gameplay. For fucking free.

No. I thought it's bundled with the EE patch. It has been released earlier, so my bad.

Still, this whole conversation is pointless. Those who own the game won't complain about the free additional content and fixes, those who don't have it... i guess it's not their business anyways.

CDP is free to hype their shit to oblivion and back again. It's their money, and as long as they don't ask me to pay for it i don't give a flying fuck about how they promote it.
