The bad guys did win.

1. They're genocidal.
2. They're sociopaths.
3. They're power abusers.
4. They think they're better than everybody else.

Fuck, they might as well call themselves The Codex.

Anyway, I wasn't booing because of that, I was booing because the ending was shit.

At least this thread drove me to read V for Vendetta. And I was apalled at how the whole here is so lacking compared to it.

Well, there's your usual action adventure comics, and there's Alan Moore comics. 99% of all writers in the world can only wish their very best work will be like Alan Moore's average.

I must admit reading these comics almost convinced me to reinstall City of Heroes/City of Villains. But the server I used ot play on is probably a depopulated wasteland these days :(

Give Champions Online a whirl, me and Faggot play it.

I did when it was just released. It was kinda meh back then (there was a huge slump at around lv 15 where you had to grind for ages to get new missions). After they made it free to play and fucked all the archetypes over so you had to use these really restrictive prepackaged powers I lost interest.

Well, the archetypes are enforced for Silver (non-subbed) players only, and those who wish to use the Restricted PVP (Resurgent Reiki and Aura of Primal Majesty combo chars often ruin Unrestricted PVP for eveyone who isn't using said broken builds). I'm one of the people in the community there who advocate making purchasable freeform character slots for C-Store, and probably one of the few life-time members to do so. The character system is still the same as it always was for Freeform characters, though with more powers to choose from.

But anyway, I came to the game a little over a year ago (had my 400 days veteran reward few weeks back), so I don't know how bad things were at the start, but I've read articles about how bad things were for the first half a year (the article in question was a recent retrospective on Massively, where the conclusion was that due to this year getting a LTS at the start would have been worth it).

Anyway, they've fixed almost all slumps (the only one there is around 32-33 when you run out of missions at your level until you go to Lemuria at 34, but it can be managed. At endgame you'll have more than enough quests for reaching 40, since Canada, Vibora Bay, Lemuria and Monster Island have extensive 36-40 mission content. They also remade all of Westside, with it being one of the starter areas (with introduction quests following the tutorial taking place there), and they added a delightfully old school racist stereotype Chinese crimelord as the boss in the West Side storyline.

Is it just me, or is the Champions Online community completely misguided when they think the concept art for the upcoming 90's costume pack is Liefeld homage?

I stopped playing Champ O after hitting 30 plus on my archer silver archetype...it got kinda boring using the same attacks over and over again.

To this day, I really don't see the appeal of grinding other characters just to see 'how they play out' I had some fun when running with friends in mid 10-15s with Super Strength by just tossing trucks at enemies, but aside from that, there's precious little keeping me logged in.

Once they quit, I left the game as well.
