Has anyone unlocked multiclassing yet? I finally got to 9 on my thief, which took around 200k XP total. So I was excited until I saw that level 10 requires 800k XP. That prompted an instant ragequit.

If you're hoping to multiclass to Assassin or Pirate at lvl10 you can dream, unless you savecum to get max attributes points per lvl.

Looking for some general tips about where to go next. Started in Sanctuary, party is mostly level 2 with a few level 3's. I've explored all of Crowl that I can find access to currently. I can't get into the Garrison and a small area in the NE part of town. Talked to most everyone, it seems the logical place to go is to the Temple Baths to look for the sister, but I have nowhere close to 5000 gold. Where to next?

Few hints: during friendly encounters you still can interact with your party issuing orders with things like: recruit, heal npc, cast spell, etc...

So my female barrower bard, who rolled a 31 will need to roll 6 everytime for 28 levels to get to Jester.

This seems radically off....

Jester class is a joke, it's almost impossible to get !

btw barrower bard female requires 30 on roll, so no bonus, not the best choice, but you get the fastest mana regen.

Yeah I recaculated it and a female barrower need 158 points which would take 26.3 perfect attribuet levels but even a durdendil (which is by far the easiest bard to roll and generally had very high attirubtes) take 141 pts which is 23.5 perfect levels.

It literally impossible for anyone to ever get jester before level 22 or so (I think durendill is actually earliest). Anyone who does not save scum would basically double this number on average so its highly implausible to ever get to Jester before level 30 and more like 40 if you are really lucky.

Is the soft level cap in the game like level 70? Otherwise this makes no sense except maybe if you soloed the game. Although I doubt even that would work due to the way XP ramps up.

Edit: I guess there is at least one recruitable Jester NPC maybe this is the only intended way to get one. Also I kind of think if you don't mind the rolling barrower is one of the best choices for bard. Normal equipment and great regen and no race has any inherent bonus or penalty for bard. Seems to be good HP and resistances as well and other than durendil your stats wind up pretty close anyway.

Ask
Gorlo for the KEY OF THE CATACOMBS and charm him if necessary. Killing him probably works as well.

On each level up, a PC receives from 1 to 6 freely-distributable attribute points, but also receives a random number of points in various attributes without any player choice. IIRC, the most I've seen is 10 of the latter.


Anyway, I seem to be missing something in the Waterport area:
I've explored Waterport, Quiddick Harbor, the Hall of Commerce, the Electrophoresis Works, the Generator Room, and the Potentiator Lab. I've found the Eyepatch and Stuffed Parrot needed to gain access to the Smuggler's Den, but not the requisite hat, and so can't get past the gate.

Also, I found the Gear Band needed to repair the generator as well as two Magneto Disks for restoring power, but even using all of these the hydrolift remains inactive, and the generator has a message about a "disconnected receptacle" (though I do receive a message about power being restored even though one of two tanks in the Potentiator Labs breaks when I install the second Magneto Disk).

Am I missing something (or somethings) within this set of areas, or should I continue from the Hall of Commerce to Loch Lalain and ride the Kelpie to find the items needed?

Hmm I think I seem to remember Wizardry doing that with attributes but its been a long time. If you were lucky enough to get 10 applicable randoms and 6 choosable then you could conceivably get the right stats for Jester in 10 levels for barrower or about 8 levels for a durendil who had 20 bonus points from creation. Savescumming that is not really plausible but it might doable to savescum Jester by level 15, maybe.

Tricorne and a Y-plug adapter are somewhere in the area. I think tricorne is in smuggler part of hall of commerce, somewhere in the corner, and the plug in the building in harbor, near where the sack is? or maybe smugglers hideout? either way, you need both. backtrack everything past waterport with detect secrets on, use locate item to doublecheck

He asked me to kill the Hive Queen and I've done it but he keep being swarmed with bugs and keeps asking me to clear the hive.

I didn't find the Wasp Queen either in the hive.
People are saying that Ancient History 70 is not enough for that plaque in Samhain, so maybe it's Mythology or something else.

Why would a plaque need ancient history?

Ancient language? Mythology doesn't fit either. There is no linguistics stat. ;)

For the plaque you just keep trying like scribing. My ancient language is also my assayer so I don't know which did it, but they were not far over 30 each and I got it after about 20 or 30 tries.

2. Two gates in Smuggler Hideout leading to the same room with a chest - how to open them? Found no triggers. Perhaps available later? The smuggler NPC had a book I could steal; decided not to hurry the events.

1. Try pirates (for the second one). First one nobody knows. Another chest like that is in SE corner of Kublai.
2. No idea.

3. viata, that was the one i mean, were you able to get the locked door open just south of it? I ended up mining the text from the beta and theres mention of sprinkling water on it to trigger something but i havent been able to find anything like that
4. I did find that spot and got the description but it wasnt interactible for me, neriad had said prior that she was happy i found a home for the crab even though he was in my inventory but she didnt get friendlier at the time, probably bugged trigger

3. No, I'm also unable to get pass this dungeon. It's one of the dead-end I found.
4. If I'm not mistaken, you have to do the same thing as the steeping stone(select it and then press it on the use item icon instead of the other way)

Holy shit Hobknob certainly doesn't hold back, does he? Took me some thought and several goes to get him. The black lich was tame in comparison.

Also, I really enjoy how control spells work on bosses, because nothing is worse than investing in them only to have them completely nerfed at a critical junction.

Dunno if this'll translate to this new 'save fix' version, but while you can't load 1.2.0.7 saves into older versions, you can load the 1.2.0.7 player library into them. Saves rereolling, that has to be good... right?

You can even load the superdemo library.

Heck, I am pretty sure you can load a save into hex edit program and copy the relevant portion from old save to new with all items and shit (maybe no spells though), to quickly breeze through what you played before if you think of upgrading to save-incompatible version. .

Works confirmed! I had a successful party , ahead in the adventure, that found rare items, but had a very slow mana regen SHT human cleric, so I created an amazing Wolvin Cleric and inserted him into the party, completely replaced that crap human cleric. :)

Okay, so this is getting awkward. I've been wandering around Nerukruel pyramid and have gotten through the path of the elders, though I can't beat Grendel due to antimagic making half my party useless and only one enchanted weapon that can harm it, so I guess there must be something else I can do before fighting it. Detect item reveals there's a key behind a locked door at the ziggurat apex but I've scoured the other floors and haven't found a way to open it. Also part of the path of the elders area is behind a locked door with no key. I found a ring pouch in the path of the elders but I have no idea what to do with it. Any help?

Btw, how do I
revive medea? Casting Raise Dead is not working.

What spell level? I think you need a really high spell level and that takes way more mana than my lvl 7/8/9 party has close to having now. I can cast 3 and am a couple levels from 4.

Does it seem to anyone else that the sleep lute can only sleep 3 mobs in a group? Since groups of 6 are getting common I've been having to revise my strategy a little, especially since a lot of enemies are getting really fast and acting before my bard. Luckily I can usually kill 3 (thanks to lethal blows) and cc the rest, but when there are multiple groups it gets a little tricky. I'm now having to east some big groups hits (and all the fast enemies seem to hit like 5 times and still cast a spell or two each) and use my casters as additional cc instead of dd.
