How big is this library of names?after Germanic kings and queens, or ancient Catholic theologians, martyrs and saints
Actually not as big as it might seem, considering how often royal names recur and medieval naming conventions were typically culturally isolated. But there is sufficient material to draw from and the more history I read the larger it becomes. I usually name characters after whichever figure I've recently read about and admired, or take from whichever ethnic group and period I'm studying, while a few are long time favorites. Some examples taken from specific figures I admire that I've used often are Augustine, Ambrose, Origen, Basilides, Clotilde, Maria, Clovis, Gregory, Chlothar, Louis, Æthelthryth, Maelgwn, Owain, &c. If a game has you create an entire party I will usually just use some of my favorites. How big is this library of names?after Germanic kings and queens, or ancient Catholic theologians, martyrs and saints
