Only one character and very lite mechanics wise but dungeons and exploration definitely reminds of M&M6-8.
There is a party-based sequel in the works but i wouldn't expect it anytime soon.

If the elderscrolls had party mechanics, I'd suggest it but alas it fails. This isn't so easy as there are a lot of games I've just never played.

So reqs are:
Party 4+ (6 is sweet but 8 is great)

Free balling no grid attachment

I hate to saw it but real time / tb switch on the fly (where machine gunning with ranged and spells can be devastating)

Not just breadth and width but depth and height for a full 3D environment

I'm probably forgetting a lot but those seem to be the basics of 6-9.

Maybe can be good, neutral, or evil that affects the game story and multiple endings.

Some world base building (like a castle to make your own or town -- getting a little HOMM here).

Crafting? Maybe.

I should add might boot of kicking but that is a different genre.

Party based with real time combat so I sleep.
I don't like the 'new and awesome or whatever' 3D visuals much, to be honest :/ Or maybe they are mere alpha screenshots?

I mean, they’re not bad, but in my book, thoughtful, hand-drawn 2D visuals will always beat anything short of marvelous 3D. That’s something many people just don’t seem to get—anything but awesome 3D visuals and you sabotage the atmosphere every single time. So, if you don’t have what it takes to produce something that ILM would applaud, don’t bother with 3D. Save your resources, go 2D, and pour your heart into it. The results will be tenfold better.
It's even more striking with studious that already did cool 2D games, such as Redshift.

That's 1:1 the same monster model used in Archaelund

Watching the video I was sort of struck with a little... Realms of Arkania HD flashback. I could be wrong. Probably am.

Yeah, similar vibes here. And it looks like the dev could not squeeze more than 15 FPS during this gameplay session. Generally it looks like he is being inspired by good stuff, but the execution requires skills, time and team of nerds. This looks like a one slavic-man project being powered by AI for 2D images.

I am playing the The Magic World 1. They implemented the same skill/trainer system. But the combat is totally different. It is more like MM3-5. Can you turn during the combat of M&M3-5? Or that counts a movement? So enemies will move as well.
This grid movement is super slow. Maybe I have a weak PC. Interesting that the players like it. I had to implement it in my game.
Here is the flow in TMW1:
Press forward->waaaaaaaaaaaait for animation to end->press forward->waaaaaaaaaaaait for animation to end....
In the beginning there is a lot of fetch quest. Walking, walking, walking and going crazy.
You cannot set the delay (to instant move like as in M&M3-5).

The dungeon critics though. Goblins suck as an audience. I wonder what my pals are doing these days. Me hamming up the camera. Lol.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Legend of Grimrock 1 and 2. Only played the sequel but enjoyed it all the same.

Late Might & Magic games are quite unique.
MM1-6 are blobbers, but 7-9 are 'normal' RPGs. They have almost nothing in common with Wizardry 8, Wizards & Warriors, Legend of Grimrock and others, except for the first-person perspective and party-based character system.
Take a look at the dungeons, for example. In blobbers you spend most of your time exploring dungeons, walking among similarly looking corridors and tunnels. This is true for Might & Magic 6, for example, but in 7-9 dungeons are relatively small and packed with content.
MM7-9 are not about exploring dungeons, they're about wanderings across thee world, finding adventures. So nothing in common with traditional blobbers.

Yes you can turn without enemy moving in M&M3. And in battle you see all enemy at once. So this is not exactly M&M3-5.

I like that post. Apparently if the game is good we're all going to find that good/landmark parts in completely different stuff.
For me, magic if MM6-8 is shooting dumb enemies from afar, cheesing as fuck and looking for some sexy secrets, hidden doors and those tempting chests. Big dungeons of MM6 is a plus, but I consider dungeons of MM7 or MM8 also quite good.

And I am looking for such game in this very thread. Free roaming is a plus, optional turn based/real time combat change mode is a plus, open world with a lot of secrets is a huge plus. Party is a must. There are almost no such games, and even when they exist they are simply not good.
