So this game ain't free? Also, one should probably finish FF1-13 first and 11 is also MMO no? Why the hell do companies do this. Make your main line a normal rpg/jrpg and make a separate MMO line.
The game is subscrition based but has ton of content that is actually nice content. 11 was kinda a mmo exclusively for consoles 14 is still a nice jrpg but also has a nice maybe the best around mmo component to it.

So this game ain't free?

The base game and the first expansion are free with no subscription required. Bear in mind that FF14 exploded in popularity in 2019 and SE can't be bothered to fix their servers, so there is a login queue and subscribers get queue priority. Subscribing allows you to buy a house (though again game exploded in popularity and the server situation hasn't been fixed so good luck trying to find an empty housing plot), and use the auction house. Once you subscribe, however, you can no longer play the game for free if you unsub.

Also, one should probably finish FF1-13 first and 11 is also MMO no? Why the hell do companies do this. Make your main line a normal rpg/jrpg and make a separate MMO line.

None of the Final Fantasy games are connected story wise. They are each their own separate setting and storyline. The earlier FF games were very similar in spirit, but as of late the only thing they have in common is the same brand name.

All mmos need hardcore player death servers where you can lose it all at any level, esp pvp.
its nothing hardcore its more like a singleplayer game with mmo elements, very different from FF11 too. From time to time you launch a dungeon with the group tool or a raid and it works surprisingly well, no ragequitter or dumbfucks there so far.

You only need the entry tier subscription, the difference being that you can only create one character per server, but that's fine as unlike other MMOs, you can play every class on a single character. FF14 is rather alt unfriendly in that an alt has to go through the entire 400+ hour long storyline to unlock all of the content again. Buying stuff like mounts or outfits off of the cash shop are not account wide. So create a character and stick with it. That being said, you only need to sub once you've beaten the first expansion, and if you play a couple hours every day you will easily beat the other two expansions and catch up to the latest patch within a month or two. Once you're caught up there isn't much to do so you can feel free to unsub till the next expansion.

If you stick around anyway, you will more than likely run into an inventory space problem (storing crafting mats, extra glamour/transmog outfits because your wardrobe is already at max capacity, housing items, etc). FFXIV sells the solution to you in the form of retainers (extra bank space), but each retainer costs an addition $2 per month.

Not too much of a problem. FFXIV is not responsive or fast paced like WoW or GW2. The game has a 2.5 second GCD and the engine is quite clunky and sluggish. If your internet speed is noticeably bad then consider using XIV Alexander as that can help a little.

Guess over a hundred outfits is considered "not much" now. And that's not even touching on the weapons, mounts, pets, housing decorations, dyes, etc.

meh. Looks like every other mmo of this type. Paying for extra space is just like free to play mmos. The EVERYONE CAN BE EVERY CLASS/SKILL utterly kills the game imho. You essentially have everyone being clones of each other but different looks. Not ALTOHOLIC FRIENDLY AT ALL. I'm not seeing what is so special here, not for a subscription. Plopping down a few hundred then a sub fee. That is bullshit imho.

Dude the game has a system where you create your own and most of them are highter quality same for home decorations and mounts. The shop has little compared at what is the game and most of those outfits cannot be dyed either

You don't get to be every class all at once or whatever the fuck you're thinking. Class-limited MMOs have just as much cloneshit anyway. Because in the end it's all best-in-slot unless you're a retard or an actual role-player (so, a retard). Class limitations only really make sense in games where the limit is the entire point of the game, which is not what 99.99% of MMOs are. They aren't about role-playing. They're co-op action games but shitty.

it's one of the worst games on the market, don't be fooled by retards who spend 16 hours a day dressing up their coomer character
name a better game bitchy_ficklefuck
You know is free trial you can try by yourself for free to make your mind. Glad to see rusty pops up on threads of games he is not interested about just to be the same contrarian to once again deliver personal attacks. Thanks for quoting that otherwise i would had never seen that.
