So I was wondering if some of you played Fallout 2 Nevada. From what I can its pretty good but it only comes in Russian.

Is it worth to play a google translated version? There doesn't seem to be an english translation in progress...

Pope Amole II Weren't you going to do an english LP of this?

Yeah, I'm planning it, but I want to finish research for the Serpent in The Staglands funbuilding first.

Why hasn't some fucker translated this to engrish already.

:outrage:

Wouldn't count on it. First, the amount of text in it is really huge - it can rival Fallout 1, I think. Second, the team got really burnt out on this one (it was 6 years of work, after all) so even if the project could've used some polish, they've just said no, that's it, we're not doing anything anymore with it. So it'll have to come from the hands of some fans.

ed: just to tease a bit - the build will probably be 6-8-6-1-10-8-1, Fast Shot & Good Natured traits, tags on Big Guns, Lockpick and Science. That's a viable build here, yeah.

Fallout Total Conversion.
Essentially, they took the Fallout engine and pretty much made another gameworld on it, with new things.
Lots of similar projects - like Mutants Rising, Fallout 1.5: Resurrection (which, from what I've heard, is only available in Czech so far) and the venerable dead project, Fan-Made Fallout (our Lord and Master DarkUnderlord used to be a dev here).
I played a bit of it long ago, and from what I remember you play as a
Vault Dweller from Vault 8 (yeah, those guys) a decade after the war.

So is it any good?

With the release of fallout 4 I really got in the mood to play something actually fallouty. What are good custom *campaigns* (for lack of a better word) for Fallout 1/2? The aforementioned are either unreleased or are not in english. Is there anything good one could pick up right now and play?

There is a "megamod" that adds a lot of new quests, npc's and areas in FO2. I had it installed at some point. The content ranged from bad to good. It's worth a try if you crave for some new FO content.

Look here : http://www.nma-fallout.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=15

I see there is also an English demo of Olympus 2077. It's said to be a pretty good TC.

I'm not familiar with Fallout 1 & 2 modding. Which series is harder to mod? The original or Bethesda's?

One would think modding Fallout 1 & 2 would be much more productive given there's no voiced dialogue (no modder would try to create a talking head), there's no need to awfullly detail every single fork and knife present in a kitchen, and so on.

Well, Cassidy's talking head in this video was created by modders from scratch - 3D model and animations from Continuum, voice from Dravean, scripted by killap and lip-synced by many other.

Actually, there are plenty of high quality talking heads in Olympus 2207.

It's really hard to translate Olympus 2207 and/or Nevada. Guys did very good job so the games (I can't say it's just mods) contain tons of text.
Literally.

Damn, those Olympus heads look impressive.

Will certainly try Resurrection come July 15th.

What is the overall amount of text, scripts and maps in the game?
2,471,214 characters
80 maps
736 scripts
