I ought to one day try to do a "Mutant Invasions Everywhere" game in Et Tu. Imagine the Vault Dweller getting out of the Vault and there's Super Mutants everywhere. Survive through the few non-mutant invaded locations, scavenge what I can, take from the remaining human encounters out there, fight Super Mutants, fend off animals and such, level up by fighting things in the wilds, and just try to save the Vault with what I got. Go with Stronger Mutants too, just to make it even harder.

Was looking for an older version of Lootable Armor mod that let you grab Adv Power Armor MK2 from bodies (especially those at crashed verbird in Klamath), but for some reason is absent in recent version. Something about "balancing" or whatever... in a game where MK1 PA is available in the first hour if you are lucky with random encounters.
Turns out it's in the vanilla Restoration Project, not upgraded one from github.
Why would you want to make the game even easier that it already is ?

the jump from Adv PA to Adv PA MK2 is just a number
getting Adv PA before getting leather armor is game changer
It just irks me that theree's best armor in the game and it's not available on the main land - and in the endgame you might not even use it (turrets+convinced squad)

Ah, the infamous "Navarro run".
I don't recommend getting the Advanced Power Armor early on because it makes the rest of the game pretty much a cake walk.
Besides, you have to deal with all those Enclave patrols and lots of other nasty random encounters, not to mention infiltrating the Navarro base itself.

Killap unofficial patch makes Navarro's run a bit harder by having it not appear on the map if you don't already have a quest to go there. Though I guess it's still possible to sequence break by going to BOS at Frisco, never tried it that way.

I don’t know any reason why anyone would want to shortcut the game by cheesing it out other than to claim they finished the “original” fallout.

You could use F2wedit to change the Hardened Power Armor appearance and resistances to be identical to the Advanced Power Armor Mark II. I suppose you’re not interested in just cheating, or you could simply use something like the Interplay’s Mapper to drop the armor on the ground, near a city’s entrance. You can buy (or send him into a cold sweat) the upgrade with Crocket, after infiltrating/joining the hubologists cult, after overwriting the item in F2wedit.

I don’t remember if any of the shopkeepers sell Hardened Power Armor in San Francisco in Restoration Project, I don’t think they ever do. It’d totally break the balance, because Crocket can upgrade armors multiple times, but he’ll stop offering his services, after delivering two armors.

I'll check that one later
as for dropping in-game I can dig out old mod that brings chests in Klamath filled with all items in the game... but my curiosity over other old mod (loot armor with adv pa MK2) got better of me

I wonder why is it that the Fallout General Thread receives much less love than the Baldur’s Gate’s one
Curiously I am more eager to replay the latter from time to time, even though I absolutely adore them both

Maybe because there are two of them and the OP just doesn't grab you. There are plenty of fallout threads though. ...... too many imho.

Case in point:

Why don't we already have a general thread for these games?

Currently playing Fallout 2 and I ran into an obnoxious issue. In Fallout 1 whenever I changed the resolution to 800x600 Windowed mode, the game now boots up in it automatically. In Fallout 2 despite this boots up in 640x480, is there anyway to fix this or am I missing something? I hate manually changing this every time the game boots up.

I did a search and couldn't find a thread dedicated to +50 IQ discussion on Fallout. So please delete this if I was too stupid to find one.

I'm playing 'Bethesda's' Fallout 1, and I got to the general merchant in the hub. Now I haven't played in over 10 years or more, but distinctly remember he had x3 different inventories based on whichever table you interacted with. I remember because this was where I developed my sexual kink for inventory management.

Except in this version of the game there's no purse within backpack within satchel for me to access. This is seriously bothering me. Did I mis-remember this? I had all my meds and drugs in one satchel, all the radioactive equiptment in another, and all the ammo in another one. That's how I played Fallout 1.

I don't think I can continue playing if this isn't as it was in the original.

Both of these are more about a problem or issue in a particular game not a general overview of the entire series then expounding on each game into further detail. Meh! They can be amended I suppose but the OP should punch you in the gut and grab your attention.
